Anyone know if it has a systemwide standalone version like Sonarworks reference ? or if they're planning on adding one ?

Post

The download contains VST2 VST3 and AAX, looks like it's DAW orientated.
Morphit Mobile on Android devices seems to be for listening music.

It's why I'm asking if they're planning one for PC, a systemwide version is much better as you don't have to remember to bypass it on master when bouncing and it has added benefit of being on all the time so you can get used to the new response quicker if everything is being filtered through it.

So how exactly does this vst work? Does it actually change the output of the master (acting as a filter)? Or does it only change the output to the headphones? I tried the demo, on my master bus. Removed it before bouncing and seemed to help out. Was making my mixes too bright due to my AKG’s not being bright, so compensated by bringing highs way up.

Yip, it's basically an E.Q. plugin. You just put it on you're final slot on the master channel, then select the headphones you're using.
I've played with Morphit. I use AKG K240 studios. I thought the were quite crisp and clear. After the K240 Studio preset is selected a lot more high end is apparent, then once you've adjust to that sound and turn Morphit off, everything sounds dull. It's interesting, but I'm not sure it actually changes the way I mix.

I have the AKG240 Studio as well so your post made me go back into my DAW and use Morphit again, and pay attention to what was going on.

When I put Morphit on master, it BECOMES too crisp so have to turn down hi-hats/rides by a db or 2. For some reason I thought that Morphit changed the sound to how it would translate over to most systems, making me think my highs were too high, before Morphit. Graph now makes total sense, as it shows a bump on the highs for the AKG240’s.

So is this worth the buy? Sure it EQ’s it to sound good for the selected headphones, but what about all the other ones? Still semi confused if Im being quite honest.

Also how you said it sounds dull without Morphit. In general, it does make my mix sound better, so now Im thinking, I just need to learn how to mix better lol

The idea is; It's correcting your headphones, and making them flat. So, if it's too bright when Morphit is on, then you do need to adjust your mix by taking some highs out.
But, in my case, I mix with a spectral analyser on my master, so I identify problems that way.
In the end, my mix normally sounds good with Morphit on... and off, although it does sound different both ways.
So yeah, Morphit does something, but personally, I don't really need it.

Alright so last question regarding how to properly use this. Do I need to leave Morphit on the master, or do I mix with it, then remove right before exporting master? Have read people doing it both ways but not sure whats the proper way, as the manual doesnt say much about proper way of using it, beyond how to use UI. Im either gonna pick this up or the SonarWorks. It cost 3x as much tho so Im undecided. Just want something that will help me translate all my songs across the board on earphones/cars/etc...

Yip, that's right. Bypass it or remove it when you're rendering your finished mix.

Cool, thanks guys. I was debating on Sonarworks Reference versus Morphit, but Ima stick with Morphit, and use Demo mode, as it is fully functional that way. With that said I will buy Reelbus4 to show support and not just freeload off their demo. Going this route will give me have 3 plugs (Morphit, Reelbus, and Goodhertz CanOpener) for the same price of Sonarworks. I've read a couple people over on gearslutz mentioning Sonarworks Reference is a not completely flat and can be slightly warm. They sorta praised the Toneboosters guy saying he's the man. With the sound I got from the Reelbus demo, I agree. Better than UHe Satin, for a fraction of the cost. But that's for another discussion.

I'm confused, why wouldn't you just purchase...Morphit? :?

Well I got a reply from Jeroen about my question, no standalone :( and his message didn't say anything about any plans for future apart from thanking for the suggestion, so I guess I'll have to go with sonarworks

It works in demo mode but it resets when project is opened. It takes 10seconds to choose my headset. I can have Morphit only, or Morphit and Reelbus4. They didnt lose out on anything, as I would have still only purchased 1 plug (Morphit) from them. But since it’s fully functional for my needs and dont need custom profiles, I now can enjoy 2 Toneboosters plugins instead of 1. I could have just kept using it for free and not purchased anything, but I showed support by buying another plugin.

These headphone correction plugins are great! You wont be dissapointed.

The Tonebooster Morphit Mobile plugin is great, but it lacks support for very popular FiiO headphones. In particular, I mean the FiiO FH7 model. I would be very grateful if support for these headphones was introduced. I hope this feature will be added soon.
