It's a reasonable question...EnochLight wrote: ↑Tue Dec 18, 2018 4:42 pmTroll'n the Reason threads, right on time - ScottyM!

Finally Reason has its own fart synth
I actually sold my Softube Modular a while ago, with all available (at that point) extra modules, because it was too time consuming and cumbersome working with a modular synth (at least for a person working full time + a few hours extra per week). Especially when I have around 2544 other interests as well that want to share my available spare time. But this looks fun and interesting, I will try it out, and if I know myself I will eventually end up buying it

It's monophonic, but as Selig said:
Want polyphony, use Distributer (RE). What more modules, add another Complex-1 to the signal path. Need more LFOs, hook up Pulsar. Need even more CV, use a Combinator & automate controls. It’s not totally without limits, but most of the common complaints can be dealt with fairly easily.

You mean Ace, Bazille and TAL-Mod, right?
Because THOSE are its competitors, not modular *environments* like Softube Modular, VCV Rack, Reaktor 6 or Voltage Modular...
In such case, I disagree. Like Europa before it (compared to Serum and wavetable synthesis), Complex-1 is a streamlined, focused take on the modular-inspired synth. I think it's pretty great acrually, although I'd prefer it had few more in/outs at the back.

Like it. It's got some power. Not bad for PH's first modular RE. Yes, I have Bazille, among others. This has a sound its own, esp used in conjunction with the rest of the R10 Environment. Lots of experiments ahead

Give me the name of another west coast inpsired vst ?
It's not just about dragging cables etccc... it's about the complex oscilator and waveshaping
Besides reakor dwg blocks and some vcv rack modules
Talmod and bazille won't cut it , altough bazille will bring you halfway there
Ahh yeah ..there's masdrona labs 'aalto '..which is verry a fine synth indeed .
Anyway I am not a reason user , but I would welcome this synth to my arsenal if was a vst .
Al my buchla-esque inspired stuff is comig from reaktor blocks dwg blocks , but I bet 'complex ' one is more cpu efficient

It's super efficient. Peter Jubel (the dev/founder that created Parsec) was responsible.gentleclockdivider wrote: ↑Tue Dec 18, 2018 9:02 pm Al my buchla-esque inspired stuff is comig from reaktor blocks dwg blocks , but I bet 'complex ' one is more cpu efficient

To be totally honest, i was wondering a bit too... can't see how this has anything in common with Dune 3/Viper/Hive.EnochLight wrote: ↑Tue Dec 18, 2018 4:42 pmTroll'n the Reason threads, right on time - ScottyM!
