Coincidence? Ehhhh could be?

It's got a scratchpad sequencer area for creating ideas,(does that count ? ) and sequencer arrangement obviously.

V4 now with pattern editor and drum editor, which are pretty cool also but with one or two odd design decisions.

Studio One is one of the most intuitive, feature rich and friendliest of the DAWs out there and has regular maintenance, every few months. 4.1.1 Has one or two big bugs in it relating to MIDI note jumping... Expecting a fix for that in the next 2 days :x

Not really. How about audio to midi or sample slicing?

It's not for me but I'm not gonna muck up your post. It's a good thing there's strong competition in this space driving innovation.
You'll see a lot more DAWs closing up shop like Cakewalk in the future, due to the overcrowding of mediocre attempts at a fully functional DAW.

You will also see some new DAWs from other companies popping up in the next year so, Native-Instruments being one.

The sad part is, it's been that way for decades, and with no change in sight.

Yup, you can slice audio and midi....There is the option which is called 'Split at Grid' within the Events menu.

No, not in the slightest - I take it you never had a look at Live?

Yeah, DAWs aren't best suited for graphic design
True, but technically you can do graphic design with Ableton Live Suite, as Max has Jitter and can use the same fonts you have loaded in your system (Helvetica, Futura, etc.). I think it can load vector SVG.

It is possible to design just dropping stuff in Max's GUI (without programming Processing-style with it), as you can drop boxes (most Max objects look like boxes), images and text into the GUI, and change their colors (most Max users don't bother, but you can make it very colorful if you want).

You can even draw with the connecting cables, some user in Muff Wiggler did a drawing of a boat.

Yup, I used it way back when 1.0 came out, also came with my Focusright interface's with Live Lite 8. Uninstalled them though and so not used it for years...hated the flat congested GUI.. I take it, that they call the session view as an alternative name to the Live triggering view of clips view.

Session View is the clip launching grid. Arrangement View is the more traditional linear workspace.

Oh please... really? if this were true I really don't know what to think about the entire competition...

It seems that FL studio is the most bashed DAW on existence, they are always improving for better offering constantly updates for free, so yeah sure, whatever float your boat.

About the Studio One demo...
Well, it installs (Notion doesn't on certain machines).
Support answers in a reasonable time frame and takes responsibility when appropriate.

But the demo limitations didn't really let me demo it.
