Sometimes people wait till the deadline to make the tracks downloadable in case they make changes. Otherwise their old submission may be judged by someone who previously downloaded it.

What Ranoka said is correct. I have actually gone a different direction, so my original idea won't really matter. I can never leave well enough alone.

Here's a link if you still want to download it for some easy listening (you may have to open it in a new tab and fish around for the download button: https://www.dropbox.com/s/w9ys114r91aka ... 9.wav?dl=0

I hadn't thought of that. Some things have changed since I last participated, like the loss of the soundcloud groups we used to use. I was trying to put together a playlist, I'll just wait till after the 31st. Tracks are sounding good y'all!

ATLANTIS is definitely being worked on atm. Many bugfixes and there's a 64-bit version now, but I'm not sure about any cross-platform stuff. I'm in contact with the dev and helping him test it. So exciting that he's returned to the project and really hope it can finally be honored by OSC in the near future! One of my all-time faves!

Once I'm sure I won't make any changes, I'll make my track downloadable.

Post

I will only provide a low-q mp3 on soundcloud for my upcoming track, once it's finished.
The full-q track will be published only on choon for now: https://choon.co/tracks/0crhb7y1dz9/thi ... nificance/

I deliberately choose to use pc and windows like the Macaristas deliberately choose Mac and on top Logic to be their DAW, knowing that both is not main stream in a sence...I mean it's even a thing that is part of the mac world, not to be windows main stream, isn't it. It's a nice goal to include as many as possible plattforms, but why we then never talk about Linux...I took part in the "Open Source FM Challenge" (4th place, https://fmchallenge.osamc.de/results/) where even some Linux only guys took part, using "their" stuff like Ardour and Calf plugins (https://calf-studio-gear.org/).
I appreciate a large number of participants, but I personaly would not cry if the OSC-majority votes for a Linux or Mac only plugin...on the other hand I would love to give 2klang64 a ride or other windows only stuff like probably Atlantis...I'd say sometimes you have to accept the consequences of a deliberate decision...

Post

@PeterH, I think most Mac people don't mind if there are Windows-only months and do understand that there are simply more Windows VSTs out there. There have been plenty of Windows-only synths used over the years. This particular month was just very frustrating because both commercial plugins were actually allowed and it _should_ have been Mac compatible but was too buggy on current macOS versions to be any fun to use (hence the push to allow Noisemaker, also). As for Atlantis, whether it's used for OSC when Windows only or not, I'd still like to see a Mac port of it (and I even offered to help, as now I've worked on a couple cross-platform plugins). I'd also love to see a Charlatan Mac port... most of the other Windows-only synths I could care less about. I also wish Synth 1 would become open source so I could help to fix up a bunch of the macOS bugs. I would probably actually use it if it wasn't buggy...

Thanks TheNeverSecne, it's all "your fault" ;-) How can one survice OSC with such a immense skill level without pushing the personal skills to the limits. Place 14 is not my goal...
The track profits from several things I've started some months ago...It's simply that I more and more find my way in Bitwig. Secondly I apply a new mixing technique without side-chains. Third point I shifted focus a bit, so for this track I have increased Mixing by another 50%, decreased sound-fx amphetamins by 50% and tried to get more structure into the track and tried to make it grow over time...

I (and probably we) can tell! The mix is clear and punchy, the fx hit all the right buttons and not overdone, and a great theme that keeps it all tied together.

14th was surprising, so glad to hear you "retaliating" (for lack of a better word) with this one.

Your avant garde approach is inspiring...pushes me, too. I need to try and whip up some fx now :D Should be a disaster.
