Well I don't own Serum and am probably not qualified.

I own Serum, but Urs just told me (indirectly) that i'm not qualified. Luckily, i can make music with that synth, which is what's it all about (for me at least)

Yes stuff like this just makes my brain bleed:
rint(w)*2-1
(x>0)*2-1
(x<0)*-2+1
abs(x)/x
x/abs(x)
I've never had a talent for Math. I use the calculator on my cell phone just to do addition and subtraction.
Oh well some people are able to do scripting so that's a good thing. I wonder how many people get it and how many people like me who are clueless.......
Hive was a great synth even before Wavetables and now it's even better........

Well, sorry, I was just answering a very technical question about gibberish in Serum with related gibberish in Hive... didn't mean to offend anyone by my tongue-in-cheek reply...

gibberish is necessary, at least, it seems to be, to get stuff done properly

I just got some spare time between holiday shores... I chose to try the new version. Bought Hive while in beta before 1.0 so this is a nice xmas present.
I never really liked wavetables before, definitly not the old school ones which always sounded hollow and "artifacty" to me, cheesy without depth or whatever (personal taste I guess).
I have been having a really bad time in the studio lately - but playing the new wavetable-based presets in Hive made me have my inspiration come back to me. I think Hive brings something new: quality of playback of wavetables. I have honestly never heard another wavetable synth that sounds as good as Hive does. Not even the new Waldorf Quantum which I played a couple of weeks back.
With that said, I can hear some "clicking" in some patches. Definitly not on all presets, but when they appear it's quite annoying. For example inte the preset called "PH Loves SEQ" (turned off the FX). The clicking isn't static ie isn't heard every loop.
Never heard this before in Hive. Here's an example of that preset (24bit wav): https://ufile.io/rmbad
Is this something that can be fixed or is it just some "bad" presets?
Take care!

It's, probably intentional, but you can fix it by lowering Mod1 Attack to 0. It's just a very fast envelope movement at the beginning of each note.21hertz wrote: Fri Dec 21, 2018 4:19 pmIs this something that can be fixed or is it just some "bad" presets?
Hive can be very clicky when envelope Attacks are too short (they go down to 0 samples), and as seen in this case also when they are just that tiny bit too long
