Hi folks,

next update is here

. 12.10 is an important update which comes up with several improvements, new features and fixes. It is recommended to install this update. To do that, get the newest version from MeldaProduction download page and use it.

Also Studio 2018 gigantic pack for MDrummer has been released. It contains dozens of drums, cymbals, percussion, loops, rhythms and much more.
It comes free for MDrummer as always.

True. Curious to know why none of the packs are 'zipped'?
Or maybe they are some way

And the single 14.27 GB Studio 2018 download is too big for me; I would much prefer several smaller downloads.

If they are already compressed adding another layer of compression doesn't make the files smaller.

Finally done. Yes there's compression. Efficiency? (I may do the worst case)
14,968,333KB file downloaded to my NAS, installed via gigabit ethernet to my external SSD - 1 hour 51 minutes.

Approx. 2-3 minutes here (internal HD to internal SSD).

Noticed though that loading a drumset takes a bit longer than before. Probably those with the new multisamples, didn't check in detail. Anyway, no biggy. Still a very comfortable and appreciated function when generating random drumsets.

The multisamples themselves are actually highly compressed by some specific proprietary lossless compression, which is very efficient in both ratio and speed, but it works well only for this kind of data. Most of other resources are internally compressed as well. So this way the data require just about the 20GB on the HDD, despite it was created from about 1TB of raw data (though lots of it was removed of course).

And when compiling the MDrummerPacks, the engine also compresses the resources again, if that's beneficial. But the extraction is very fast, especially on modern CPUs.

Indeed, gigantic. I'm downloading it as I'm typing this. Still more than 8 hours to go, and I don't consider my internet to be extremely slow at 500kB/s. Breaking the thing up in smaller chunks would have been nice. Let's hope that the download doesn't get interrupted...

This is a huge download. I had to clean a bunch of stuff off my HD just to load this up. That said, it sounds really good. The room mics make a big difference in sound. The percussion sounds really good too. I like how the drums are a different color now too(in the rhythm editor). Its easier to tell what you're doing even if it doesn't look quite as nice.

I downloaded the update again this morning to verify my statement, and of course, Google was faster.

(4.6 MB/sec vs 1.9 MB/sec)

OMG, did you design and program your own drum sample compression algorithm? If so, just for fun?

Hehe only improved existing algorithms, but yes

. I always liked compression algorithms, I wish I had more time for things like that
