Ah, thanks. Not for me then, as I already have Backmask. Hey, those plugins are really cheap anyway, but I just don't think I have much use for Dumpster Fire. If it was even cheaper I might buy it just for the fun of it.owenf711 wrote: Mon Dec 31, 2018 3:07 pmRichN wrote: Mon Dec 31, 2018 1:05 pmI know about that, but I couldn't get myself to do that, even though they make fun of it. I was under the impression there was a proper sale.
From the no chat thread a couple days ago:
If anyone “stole” the freakshow plugins and wants to repent, there’s a sale until 1/1. Save $10 when you buy 2 plugins with code “DANG” at checkout. So $30 total if you buy both backmask and dumpster fire.

So Plugin Alliance sent out a $75 one-day only voucher... on a minimum $150 order. For me it would probably be worthwhile if it would bump me up into their $50 voucher tier... how much do you need to spend for that?

I watch the chat thread only. If it is a good enough deal, it gets chat. And I don't have to look at all those loud and obnoxious preset sales for synths I don't own.Kurdish Mayfield wrote: Mon Dec 31, 2018 3:31 pmThis is a forum for software bargains and Waves plugins are among the greatest bargains ,especially for those of us who have been at this for awhile. Bought pretty much all the Audio Assault stuff today with that 80% off code in the other thread. Such a great buy!

Yes, thats why I proposed to make an extra Waves thread for those interested, because their sales are so frequent and there are also a lot people not interested in them.Kurdish Mayfield wrote: Mon Dec 31, 2018 3:31 pmThis is a forum for software bargains and Waves plugins are among the greatest bargains ,especially for those of us who have been at this for awhile. How does the PA voucher rule work?
If one buys today something for, let’s say $150, and next BF something for $150, will they get the $25 vouchers until next November, and then $50 vouchers for the next 12 months?

From what I can tell, it's a system with a rolling 12-month window. If, in the previous 12 months you've spent enough to move up a tier, you get vouchers that correspond with that spending. Once you you dip below, you'll move back down a tier (or two), though I get the sense there is a bit of a lag in either direction.
In that example, I'd expect you to get one or two vouchers for $50 after November 2019 before dropping back to $25 (assuming they keep the same system). The system seems to be set up to reward spending frequently rather than in big lumps.

I've had Waves plugins for about 10 years and paid WUP maybe 3 times? Always for a reason. ProTools went AAX, Mercury got a bunch of new plugins and instead of buying them separately, I WUP'd for less. Actually, the other time I did it was for new plugins also. Always when they had the sale. Never full price. There is a WUP sale once a year.Caine123 wrote: Tue Jan 01, 2019 2:21 pm I consider replacing my waves plugins cause wup sucks and thats what they try to do. Every other time, I just upgraded my bundle when the next one was on sale and never had to WUP, mostly because I had GAS. But? As a Windows owner, WUP was only necessary for the PT upgrade to get AAX plugins. All the other times it was just because I wanted more stuff. So when people who are not Mac owners (that's a whole different mess that is Apple's fault) complain about WUP, it kind of bothers me.
And? Gold is enough. I use the plugins in Gold most of the time. The rest? Just icing. Gold has all the basics plus a few extras. You don't really need more to start.

Yup. The Dirk Ulrich quote gave a different impression (”for the next 12 months” part), but this is from their home page:Gamma-UT wrote: Tue Jan 01, 2019 3:32 pm From what I can tell, it's a system with a rolling 12-month window. ”Yes, we send out loyalty gift vouchers ($25, $50 and even $75!) to our paying customers almost every month!
Once you start spending more than $50 with us you will receive these vouchers via email for up to 12 months. You can use them on future orders, upgrades and more.
The only time we don't send out monthly gift vouchers is during major promotions, for example the big XMAS promo. But... in these months we will have offers for our loyal users which far exceed a simple gift voucher!
Our monthly customer loyalty vouchers are automatically generated based on the amount of purchases you make and are subject to change based on your spending habits. This system is completely automated and calculates your vouchers based on the product purchases you made within the last 12 months.”

I'm not usually a buyer of waves stuff, but this HALFOFF code is a bit nuts, especially via EveryPlugin.com.
I couldn't pass up the new Flow Motion FM synth for $21.
If I didn't already have the excellent but underrated Element 2.0 VA synth, the Dave Audé EMP Toolbox [ Element 2.0 + C6 + H-Delay + L3 ultra/multi maximisers + mv2 + transx ] for $25 would be an insta-buy for me too.
