Should there be any presets?

I went with the 3 aux lanes in the end because I felt that to go with hardcoded CCs vs flexible aux data that can be used for anything was a bit of a limitation.gentleclockdivider wrote: Tue Jan 01, 2019 1:30 pm Why can't we have a direct midi cc lane in the mono/polystep sequencers ?

Not in the beta, no, just the built-in modules.

Also; shouldnt the 'getting started' manual start with 'hook up a basic mono sequencer and get it to play a plugin' rather than 'dive all the way into the deepest level and start building stuff' ?
Because for the life of me I cant work out how to do the former. I can add a plugin to the mixer and I can add a step sequencer to the timeline or play section and get either of them running, but can I work out how the hell to get them to talk to that plugin?
Looking through the guide didnt help; about a dozen pages in it says "Choose the track as the destination in the MIDI Output." and I have no idea where this 'MIDI Output' is supposed to be. Timeline? Plugin? Mixer? Mono Sequencer? 'Play' ? Somewhere else?
Did I wake up stupidly dumb this morning? Ive built sequencers in MAX/MSP and yet I cant even get one to play here? aaargh.

Noted. `MIDI output` is a module, found in Built-ins > Output, and that'll be your link between the graph and the mixer or external MIDI devices.

Add a Output > MIDI Output to the graph window and select the track that has your VST plugin on it in the properties panel of the MIDI Output module.
I'm sure there will be a better quick start guide and overall documentation for the final release.
Edit: Colin beat me to it.

True; the quick-start guide is nowhere close to what the release docs will be.

Awww, crap. In the Graph.colin@loomer wrote: Tue Jan 01, 2019 1:51 pm Noted. `MIDI output` is a module, found in Built-ins > Output, and that'll be your link between the graph and the mixer or external MIDI devices.
Nother thought then : if I create a Track in the mixer, can I automatically get a MIDI Output created for that Track in the Graph, same as the sequencers get created automatically.

Yes, I think that sounds like a sensible thing, although it'll be optional as not all tracks are MIDI sources - you may use them for grouping, or sends, etc.

Found a bug >
Trying to map the divide parameter to a performance parameter .
What happens is that the parameter below it ( in this case the multiply) is assigned instead of the divide parameter .
I see now , divide and multipley are seen as 1 parameter ..makes sense

Gawd Im demanding ; more thoughts... MIDI learn for mappings (on the cards anyway?) plus dragging and/or cut-copy-paste of (groups of) plugins from one track to another...
Also; multiple input/output plugins, can I do that ?
I should shaddap and read the guide now.

Okay, answering one of my own questions partially... Kontakt detected as having 64 outputs, but unlike 2-output synths I cant tap any of them as the input to another Track.

No, I think you're right, that does sound like a bug. Could you let me known exactly what steps you took? Thanks.gentleclockdivider wrote: Tue Jan 01, 2019 2:09 pm Found a bug >

All good suggestions, so be as demanding as you want.whyterabbyt wrote: Tue Jan 01, 2019 2:11 pm Gawd Im demanding ; more thoughts... MIDI learn for mappings (on the cards anyway?) plus dragging and/or cut-copy-paste of (groups of) plugins from one track to another...

Mappings can MIDI learn if you turn on auto-mapping, which is on the bottom right of the Remote Mappings window. Select a purple destination and wiggle your controller.
