MCompare upgrade or a new plugin suggestion

I use quite a few izotope products like Neutron and Ozone. Recently I also bumped into Mastering Mix's Reference plugin. I think both of these developers are onto something that I think can be really helpful if it's done (and used) right. Precisely: Something that compares in a very clear and visually informative way
a.) the frequency balance;
b.) the stereo width;
c.) the compression/punch etc
between
1.) a master track and some reference tracks;
2.) between multiple tracks in a project (which obviously would involve some inter track plugin communication)
(See the Reference plugin from 5:45 Visually their solution is pretty much identical to izotope's "tonal balance" see )
I'm not convinced that visually this is the very best approach/solution but what it tries to do I find very useful.
(Side note: happy new year and thanks for your great plugins. I started to use some of your plugins something like 6 month ago and now I use daily your spectraldelay, your multianalyzer and your autodynamicEQ. I just upgraded to the complete bundle, I'm very excited.)

Hey, smart move! You are going to have so much fun digging in to the almost endless depth of these plugins.
As for your suggestion. I really want this also.
I have already spoken in depth with Vojtech about this and if I remember correctly, it should be included with the mixing revolution stuff.
So hang tight, it should be on the way.

Why another plugin? Other requests for dedicated plugins for feature X have been put down reason being to avoid "duplication".
MCompare is perfectly suited for the task. All needed in terms of a UI is a graph for width and the dynamic range and the possibility to show infos on both tracks side by side or overlaid.

Thanks for responding. I agree with you that "MCompare is perfectly suited for the task" but I think it would be great to be able to use this "visual aid thing" not only in relation between a mix/track and other reference mixes/songs (like the current Reference plugin) but also between tracks in a project. In this sence Mcompare would also compare the frequency, the width, the "punch"...of tracks in a project.masitito wrote: Tue Jan 01, 2019 5:40 pm Why another plugin? ...".

Well, it's on the todo list, but there are many more interesting things, so ...

Recently I've heard some praise of visual aids like this for balancing. It's a market demand that hasn't gone away in the years since the original post. Maybe it's still on the to do list? I'm reminded of how MCabinet displays a variation band around the response curve. It's a very useful display. Averaging IRs in MCabinet is similar in concept to how averaging the frequency response of several songs within a specific genre would be, in order to generate the variation band.

I still like MCompare but it does have all the measurements that are advocated for "modern" referencing. At least as claimed on YouTube. Possibly by the creators of other plugins
MMultiAnalyzer has some features that complement it. But I and others have already said that in this thread.
What I gather that folks when they do reference a track also compare the width (possibly also in 3-band) and LUFS. Add a nice M/S graph and a 3-band "energy meter" to spice things a bit.
"All" that Melda Production needs to do is to let an intern copy all the width and LUFS stuff from MMultiAnalyzer to MCompare, remove the sender/listener code and - tadaa - we have MReference. No need to argue about duplication. Melda's EQs overlap already and for me it is only natural that with a groing list of products there are overlaps.
Or just improve MCompare for free

Masi, your description very accurately anticipated Sonible's True Balance plugin that launched this week. Well done!masitito wrote: Wed Nov 02, 2022 10:48 am What I gather that folks when they do reference a track also compare the width (possibly also in 3-band) and LUFS.
