MDrummer16out: exclusive send to a stereo pair ?

Hello,

Is it possible to send, for instance, using MDrummer16out a cymbal to stereo 3 and 4 while at the same time excluding the cymbal from the main mix ?

I can send drum instruments to specific stereo channels but they remain in the main mix. I would like only to send certain instruments to their distinct outputs while retaining the rest in the main 1 and 2 outputs.

The solution would be to send all instruments to their specific stereo outs although I'd like to know if the simpler approach above is possible.

or turn them off individually. They're awesome for ambiance but pesky for routing if you forget about them!

I tried it for the crash and ride cymbals but it does not remove them from the main stereo 1 and 2 outputs. Prior to that I was sending the room mix to stereo 7 and 8 all right. Here are the settings for the cymbal.

And here's how I send instruments to specific outputs. I assume that channel 1 is 1-2, channel 2 is 3-4, channel 3 is 5-6, so on, and that seems to work all right. If only when sending an instrument to 3-4 it would be removed from the main out.

Sorry. I just realized that I had used the high hat as my test instrument. I'm sure that it would be different for each instrument and what the mic placements were in relation to that instrument. Some engineers mic each drum top and bottom, some don't even put a mic on the hat, leaving it for the overheads to place and pick up.
I think it would be nice to add mic diagrams for kits to the literature, but not a necessity.

For the time being I assigned in the same manner as shown above the rest of the drumkit instruments each to its own stereo output. Nevertheless, it would be practical to be able to only 'extract' certain instruments like a crash cymbal from the main stereo mix while keeping that main stereo mix when it does the job instead of having to assign all drum instruments to their own stereo outputs. If there's a built-in way to do so.

Maybe an alternative could be in having for instance stereo outputs 3 and 4 as the new main output and sending all instruments there except for the crash cymbal which would go to 5 and 6, and then mute 1 and 2.

Then again, MDrummer itself provides all possible FXs and mixing capabilities, so why would one go the 'traditional' way have have multiple outputs in the first place ? Maybe I should mix and add FXs for each drum instrument within MDrummer ?

I don't follow, it does work like that, just checked . But as it was mentioned in this thread, check that you are now listening to the OH & Room (assuming you are using Studio 2018 stuff). If so, just mix the cymbal's OH/Rooms in the MultiSampler (I thought it's default, maybe not...)
