They are built-in modes in the library that I use for plug-in scanning, so maybe I'll need to take off the training wheels and actually code my own ordering algorithms.

Either that, or get the plug-in search done sooner rather than later. I think I've got the features locked down for tomorrow's beta, but I reckon I could get plug-in search done for Friday... (famous last words.)

It's not too pressing for me, I just wanted to give you some feedback, since it looked a bit odd to me.
The search would be my highest priority, I use that all the time in Bitwigs Popup-Browser and with my many plugins, it's the fastest.

Cheers!

Another suggestion , it would be great to see which steps already have been altered (divide/count/multiply ) when switching to another step mode

Also , one of the neat feature in era is that the divide parameter also has a speed ramp (fade in/out) , going from slow to ridiculously fast , all on 1 step

I would like to evaluate architect a bit deeper. Is it possible to get something like a "15 day license" instead of the "one session demo"? I wanted to see what could be done with lua and chord-class+phrases (like accompaniment style), but it seems a bit difficult evaluating what's possible in a single session only.

colin@loomer wrote: Wed Jan 02, 2019 6:20 pm Hmm, give me a while, let me think how you could achieve this... Worse case scenario, you get busy with some numeric and boolean tables and build your own sequencer! :)
Finished the quick start sequencer tutorial about half an hour ago and am off exploring already, this is much more fun than I expected it to be! Hard to believe this is the work of one person, amazing stuff.

It's probably already been asked but is there any chance of distributing a generic temporary beta license that allows us to reload patches for the duration of the the beta? It's going to be hard to make real headway into testing big patches etc. without being able to work across sessions. I will almost surely end up buying this at some point in the very near future but I'd like to work on some slightly larger projects in it before committing to the purchase.

EDIT: Ah yes, what joule said basically : )

It's not currently possible to generate time specific keys, and with other more pressing issues it's not likely something I can look into immediately. When things are stable, could you remind me again, and I'll see if I can help you out?

@ colin
It would be more user friendly to make a visual distinction between global 'sequencer parameters which affects all its patterns , and the parameters which are pattern specific ...
These start from the third parameter of the transport section , everything below that is pattern specific .
What about colouring this area to the pattern colour, just a small coloured bar ?

Sounds like a good idea.

I wonder how long it will take before people start requesting audio tracks :) , cause let's face it ...architect is practically a DAW
I am happy how it is

Thirded. I'll do it.

Just messing around with the demo a bit more.

Here is a simple acid synth sequenced by Architect. There are 5 "LFOs" which are recursively modulating each other, each one modulating different things like notes, gates, modwheel, velocity etc.
Nothing was sequenced using a sequencer, everything is generated in realtime from the LFOs. This could run for hours and would still not repeat, while hopefully still not being too random and quite natural sounding.
I also added a simple pad and a kick to give the whole thing a little bit more context.

I'm still amazed at how awesome Architect is. This is barely scratching the surface. There is so much that could be done with it. Absolutely amazing work, Colin!

Amazing work as usual Delta Sign!

I'm not sure I can hold off buying for much longer, seems like Architect is exactly what I'd hoped it'd be for all these years...

Nice Delta Sign! I love generative stuff. I haven't made a tune in a regular sequencer in many years.

Looks like you can export and import macro's so there is a partial way of working between sessions if you are just building stuff

Yeah, it's exactly what I hoped it to be and a lot more. I've been waiting for a tool like this for many years.

Generative stuff is fun! It seems like Architect might become the ultimate generative tool box, at least when it comes to sequencing.

Great stuff!

I'm just experimenting with actually modulating plugin parameters from Architect for the first time, and it seems to work really well.

Here is another thing that has been sequenced completely in Architect. This time it's also modulating a bunch of synth and effect parameters directly. It's a little bit on the crazy side and it's hard to tell what's actually going on, but I thought I should post it nonetheless :hihi:
