I had a long time to think things over.

Seriously though, getting everything consistent was a massive chore;, but when things were right it was obvious they were right, because other things just fell into place.

Hi, i have a virus warning trying to download Architect (win version).
Is there any .zip archive?

A couple of questions

1. Could be architect a way of building editors/librarians for external gear (via SysEx)?
2. Is there any MIDI buffer recording/playing features? (to build MIDI loopers and the likes).

thanks!

I can upload a zip if that helps? I'm assuming this was the same false-positive someone else mentioned. If you're concerned, does your virus checker allow you to submit exes for inspection and to fix false-positives?

Yeah, easily. I think that there is a limitation in Arc's maximum allowed size of sysex messages. Library editing should be fine, but sample dumping via sysex is probably out of the question!

There's a MIDI delay, write to MIDI pool, MIDI player. I had a specific MIDI looper module, but it didn't make the cut for the beta. I'll look into getting that back in shortly.

Can we have the option to quickly stop a clip from playing in the grid view , what about right mouse button and stop ( not content stop )

And what about a light theme for the dark winterdays ?

Yes, or something along those lines is possible. I'll try a few things out.
And what about a light theme for the dark winterdays ?
It's (internally) theme-able. Pre 1-0 I'll look at adding colour options to the prefs so you can create your own themes, and I assume that a light one'll be included as a default option.

Just a heads-up that it is likely there will be no new beta today. The surgery I'm doing is a little deeper than I anticipated, and I don't want to rush it out.

Here's a micro request.
A warning when using "New (Creates a new preset)"?

Yes, of course.

I loaded architect for the first time as a vst plugin in my host (renoise )
The midi hardware output is directly available in architect , but unavailbale in the host itself ..

This is the first time I encounter that t a plugin is taking direct control over the hardware midi out (when it's selected )
Which makes it a tough decision , either sequence my hardware with architect or Renoise , not both :scared:

Okay , just found out midi out can be set to host

Also found an issue when loaded a plugin ( sequencing plugins inside architect ) and sequencers set to play mode >
When the host loops / restart , the sequencers don't always restart from the beginning

@ colin ...could you please implement the feature so we can use a pc keyboard for entering notes , I have a tracker background and LOATHE pianorolls

That may not be an issue, per se, as it could be the internal timing thing that was mentioned a few pages back. Essentially, sequencers keep time with themselves, which mean if you take it off the (for example) 16th note grid, it will stay off the grid. A per-seq global resync setting was suggested, and I think this is the best solution for this kind of thing.

To clarify what I mean about sequencers keeping time with themselves, if you have a loop from bar 1 to bar 4, at the end of bar 4 the sequencer will jump back 4 bars from its current play position.

Hey Colin,

tried Dependency Walker on the Architect.exe to see if it's missing something and this is what it came up with:
Image
Am I maybe missing some MS runtime?
Windows 8.1 x64, latest updates, latest drivers, a ton of runtimes, but maybe you use something special I don't have yet?

Another question: I installed Architect to a custom folder, but that folder does contain only the "install.log", "Uninstall.exe" and "Architect Manual.pdf". The actual "Architect.exe" was installed in C:\Program Files\Loomer\Architect
That feels wrong?

Cheers,

Tom
