David, that sounds awesome. I wish i could be a fly on your wall. :) I'm curious, various players use different methods to gate on/gate off, hardrestart etc. Tunes by 20cc sound different from earlier c64 tunes. (More sharper attack) thanks to methods in the players. Is this gonna be possible to emulate in Chipsynth64? (I really hope i didn't give you a major headace now) 😀 anyway, great clip! Can't wait for the release!

Since its for a dedicated synth we turned off all the envelope bugs for the synth part by default, but you can turn them back on if you want to have stuck notes :) Cant say more for now.

Thanks for the reply David! I know that most people are happy with being able to emulate that hubbard sound at 50hz. But what i love about the C64 is the freedom with all the players/editors. Not many sound alike. For sure. The early Daglish (rip and may i say.. what a friggin great musician he was, i am seriosly devestated!! ) and hubbard had a certain sound. But then came Maniacs of noise, and Jch Editor, 20cc. Every tune sounded different. But as far as i gathered, it came down to the attack sound of every player. Flimbos quest/Maniacs of noise (subtune1) sound very different from Supertrucker/Reyn Ouwehand. (Subtune1) 😀

David, if you haven't implimented it yet, i guess a freely choosen speed value for the first table would do the trick . Like if the table reads in the following order: noise, square, square, noise (loop to choosen destination, a typical snaredrum) if one could choose the speed of that start value (a seperate value from the rest of the table, like 1-100 , then you could emulate all the later stuff by Drax, reyn in Falco Pauls Player etc pretty good ❤

cs64 uses an improved Mod Matrix from PortaFM and as such you can tweak the speed of the each table at will, and automate it, or have a CC change the depth/speed, etc.

That sounds great!! :) Would give lots of freedom!

From the top of my head: Dutch Breeze krameR by Reyn Ouwehand. Always liked the tune and the sounds in that one!

Lots of anticipation for the upcoming CS64 synth. If it turns out to be a big success, and I think it will, that bodes well for all of the remaining synths to come in the CS series. :tu:

awesome :D!

i am so excited and hope this will be finally a vst for chiptune/sidstuff with modern handling, drag and drop, no cumbersome handling etc.! this is sadly with many other vsts sadly which feel old school in a bad way! but after portafm im not worried ;)

PortaFM still remains one of my favourite virtual instruments, it's so good for something so deceptively simple.

Is there a changelog anywhere? I couldn't find one, there is 1.006 now and I'm on 1.005 but dpn't know what's different. Is the update mentioned still in the works? Would be nice not to have to change the size each time. Nevertheless, it's excellent.

We have a 1.029 update coming next week. Stay tuned!
