Figured I should post this and give a heads-up to anyone that still uses Padshop (Pro). I had to redownload Padshop due to accidentally deleting the dll and noticed the newest update (1.2.10) was from December 20 2018, ~6 years since the last one!

Yep!
Noticed that update couple days ago. I updated it and the user interface that indeed received a facelift is the most obvious one. The preset and sample loading navigation is easier and more intuitive, bolder fonts, contrasts, etc. Other than that, it's very minimal in term of change.
But the elephant is still in the room. It still misses a zoom tool in the sample view. It's long long overdue and I have no idea why they don't implement this, as Padshop is a sample manipulation synth and a zoom tool for sample micro-grain work is a must for any granular synths in my opinion (no hope for it neither to be honest). Other than that, man that synth's granular engine sounds great, buttery and velvet!

Facelift? The GUI is still unusable of 4K (one tiny size) and FUGLY anyway!

You find it that bad? Unusable, really? I have a 5K Retina display and I don't think it's unusable at all, not perfect but totally workable.SLiC wrote: Fri Jan 04, 2019 7:23 pm Facelift? The GUI is still unusable of 4K (one tiny size) and FUGLY anyway!

I have to put my reading glasses on to see it properly! For an update to include retina (Hi DPI) but not have a larger GUI is pretty lame IMO.....it makes a masive (no pun intended) difference to me, I love using Dune 3 now for example with the large GUI where as I reluctantly put my glasses on to use Dune 2Neon Breath wrote: Fri Jan 04, 2019 7:51 pmYou find it that bad? Got it. They could at least give few resolution options yeah, like small/medium/large... + that damn zoom tool to work into that tiny small sample window! That it tough too for the eye when you want to precisely place your grain position in a very specific place in the sample.SLiC wrote: Fri Jan 04, 2019 8:10 pmI have to put my reading glasses on to see it properly! I had just about forgotten that I owned this. I have it on an old laptop (soft elicenser) and want to put it on a new laptop (soft elicenser). With iLok this would be a piece of p*ss. With elicenser, which I haven't fired up for years, I am totally without a clue.
I know from past experience that the time to reply for a technical support request to Steinberg is 3-4 weeks. Any ideas?

Check their FAQ, I think it‘s covered there.lnikj wrote: Fri Jan 04, 2019 8:41 pm I had just about forgotten that I owned this. AFAIK you have to transfer the license to a USB eLicenser
(and there it will stay, no way back...)
But perhaps I‘m wrong.

The workaround is to copy the vst3 and put it in the vst2 folder, then change the extension to just vst. Ironically that worked. But I wouldn't put it past them to have 'fixed' that little loophole (despite not fixing the really important things) so I will be sure to back everything up just in case.
