I would feel a lot better buying sample libraries if the vendors posted some photos of their actual sampling process with the gear. At least that way we would have some knowledge that they actually used real gear to create the sample libraries / impulses.

My best grabs from PA themselves were Zip and SpecOps for $24 each.

Zip starts with a really nice compressor as a foundation. You could almost stop there, but why?

Now add in UA’s crazy modulation options, and it’s an incredibly deep sound design tool.

And if my memory serves, BYOME has essentially a similar compressor module shoved into it.

I have read a lot positive things about them all and think F6 is very interesting.

Scheps Omni Channel, Abbey Road Chambers, TG Mastering Chain ---- Those 4 all sound very good. Is there a plugin that is not on sale very often ?

Okay, thanks will definetly buy it If lets say, i buy less junk food and save going to Burger King this Weekend... Should I get F6 too ? I have read a lot of positive things and the demo was great. I have no dynamic eq in my collection. Is there anything better in this price range ?

I use F6 in my chain, I really like its dynamic aspect which gives a lot of movement like a compressor to a small section of the freq, the release really makes a difference. Its a well put together EQ! but all depends how many tools you already have!

Btw if you say that the demo was great then you cant go wrong, its working for you. Dont worry about what you may or may not be missing out on, you dont need everything, just a few good solid tools..

The thing is also like: I do not have the time at the moment to make a side by side comparison with other Dyn. EQ's. If I buy a tool and I take the time to learn its behaviour, it should be a tool that is useful for the next 3-4 years.

Fair enough, there are lots of plugins out there and its hard to know (and to try out) which ones are best for your personal workflow.

What Ive found in my unending desire to try and buy plugins at alluring bargains that'll somehow fit into my projects (because, you know, I still somehow didnt have enough) is that pretty much every plugin I own has things that frustrate me: Like a missing feature, say dry/wet knob (which Ive now fully taken for granted as given even though its a recent privilege of software) or a small ugly gui or a weird crash under certain combinations.. One is missing an output gain knob and another doesn't have a true bypass and another the knob can only be turned in circular motion and I only feel in my zone with up and down ones... the list is extensive.

My point is that if something DOES work and feels great for what it does I dont worry too much about greener grass on the other side because what it does well - its doing well! Its only a question of how much frustration/limitation you feel that plugin has that you may decide to ditch it and find a better one. F6 seems to work well for you so go for it, its a solid plugin. Its also still on sale for 'halfoff' right now, right? Cant go wrong with Waves prices if you want that kind of thing.

I wanted to use the 'halfoff' promotion 2 hours ago, it was no longer working at Waves or AudioDeluxe. Bummer.

I agree entirely. Try not to be fooled by the bargain price - if something's broken or doesn't work how you think it should, you won't reach for it. Just one little niggle (no wet mix knob, odd crashes, Nquist warping etc) and you'll always reach for something else - so don't bother. "It was only $20" is a sad excuse. I try to demo everything extensively now before buying. Wasted too much on useless buggy plugins.

Let's make 2019 about more music, less plugins
