FR: classification in the project page

Wouldn't it be handy to have some way to classify your edits, so you can see at a glance which are:
Finished
Not worthy any further work
Going to be included in the new album
The better version
or any other property that you can think of.
The classification should be visible in the list of the edits on the project page, so you can see them at a glance. Preferrably with some colour coding.

You can do this in the description?
This will show in the list if you view it as a single list rather than in the 3 standard columns.

Well, I use the description field for text information about the edit/song. This can be rather lengthy.
I was thinking of a classification system, similar to what you find in photo editing programs. Maybe an 1-5 stars classification plus a custom classification with keywords that you can choose.
A system like this can be handy, for instance, if you use edits for storing musical ideas that you might want to use later. There can be a lot of them after a while, so some system for categorizing should be useful.

This isn't a bad idea: maybe just be able to assign one of five or six colors to a project in a list of projects, and tell at a glance what the status is. I agree the description field isn't the best for this, as opposed to a quick right-click, select color, done. People can assign whatever significance a color means to them, too.
Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, and even Deezer, whatever the hell Deezer is.

That could be a workable solution. Maybe a colour selection plus a five star rating?Watchful wrote: Tue Jan 08, 2019 4:15 pm This isn't a bad idea: maybe just be able to assign one of five or six colors to a project in a list of projects, and tell at a glance what the status is. Yeah, like the old Macintosh "labels" feature, where you could select a color and a title (which you could customize).
Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, and even Deezer, whatever the hell Deezer is.

I like this idea. I often use edits to have separate composition, sound design, mixing, and mastering versions in a single project. A way to more conveniently sort them would be neat.

+1 from me for color labels and star rating.

Love this idea. I've been keeping a big paper posterboard chart of this progress. Being able to see it in the projects pane would be great.

+1. Great idea. Color labels and stars sound useful.

User defined categories would be the most useful. A way to mark versions besides just adding it to the title would also be neat.

Exactly, that way each of us can decide what the colors or stars mean, since we all work differently. Not sure what the defaults would be, though.
