I already mentioned this earlier, so sorry for repeating myself, especially since I have nothing finished to offer yet, but anyway: I’m working on a granular module for VM. Seems like every time I think I’m close to locking down the feature set (so that I can start working on the final GUI and optimization etc), I come up with a new supercool idea I just _have_ to implement...Niowiad wrote: Fri Jan 25, 2019 2:50 pm I hope granular modules will be made available. I'm trying hard to get the demo, but on this page:

I get "No query results for model [App\Product]."
What have I missed?

^^^
Thank you. I see there the Demo for "Voltage Modular Core + Electro Drums".
I thought that the demo link was here:
https://store.cherryaudio.com/bundles/v ... r-software
Or is that perhaps just the Voltage Modular framework, no modules?

Most of them are MIT licensed. You can release them for free or charge £1000 for them if you want.fmr wrote: Fri Jan 25, 2019 2:56 pm Mutable Instruments has a lot of modules, among them some granular, and all of them are open source, with the code published. Of course, they would have to be released for free (or the fees paid to Mutable Instruments), but Cherry Audio could code them as modules for Voltage Modular, AFAIK.
If you want to licence their name and the look and feel of their faceplates, as Softube have done, then there will be a fee.

VCV launched them with the original looks (but not the name and MI brand) for free.lnikj wrote: Fri Jan 25, 2019 4:06 pmMost of them are MIT licensed. Anyway, I think that a deal could be established with MI to release them with the original names and looks for a reasonable fee (certainly lower than what Softube is charging).

I think Andrew Belt negotiated something with Emilie Gillet as he has the advanced access to their newest source arrangement (during the period whilst it remains closed).fmr wrote: Fri Jan 25, 2019 4:12 pmVCV launched them with the original looks (but not the name and MI brand) for free.lnikj wrote: Fri Jan 25, 2019 4:06 pmMost of them are MIT licensed. Who knows what Softube are paying? (I certainly think they had to pay an arm and a leg to Buchla !).

This option has always existed. Go to Voltage Modular's preferences, select the Account page, and check "Ask Before Downloading Updated Modules." You'll be prompted when there are updates available, and you can choose whether or not to download them.DarkStar wrote: Fri Jan 25, 2019 10:44 am Some us you would like to manage the downloads (into an unmetered or convenient time) so can the auto-download be made an option?

Occasionally we add features to the Module API to allow for new features, such as plug-in hosting or the Remote Control modules. When we do that, new modules and existing module updates may require you to have the new API before you can download them. That's why it is sometimes necessary to get the latest version of Voltage Modular before you can use some of the new modules.fmr wrote: Fri Jan 25, 2019 1:28 pm This isn't how it works over here. I have to manually download the installer for the new version, and run it. Only then it will download the new and updated modules.
The up-side of this is that you'll never get stuck with a module that's not compatible with your version of Voltage Modular.

When you say drum loop do you mean created with one of the drum step sequence modules or an audio loop loaded into the sampler?

Are you asking about the samplers? They don't have time stretching or any sense of tempo, they just play back samples at different pitches. A tempo-syncing loop player might make a nice module in the future.
If you're asking how to sync the drum sequencer to tempo, I can help you with that.

YAY! Single Cycle Waveforms!cherryDan wrote: Fri Jan 25, 2019 12:19 am KVR friends,
Today is a good day for some new modules, and we’ve got a pile of really exciting new modules to share with you. Let’s get right to it..
Sampler I (free for Voltage Core owners!)
It’s time to rethink what a modular synthesizer can do. Voltage Modular takes a massive step forward with the release of Sampler I, a free module for all owners of the Voltage Core package. This feature-packed sample playback module can load WAV, AIFF, MP3, and OGG files up to a minute in length. Automatic transient detection combined with our Snap to Transient feature makes it easy to create perfect loops. Loop Start, Loop End, and Loop Point are all fully CV controllable, and samples can play forward or in reverse based on these settings. Sample Rate decimation and Bit Depth decimation are included, and of course, are fully modulatable with CV. Sampler I is a blast to play with, whether you’re adding drum and percussion loops to your patches or building patches around your favorite sampled sounds.
Sampler II ($10)
Sampler II includes all of the features of Sampler I, plus real-time stereo sampling. Sampling can be triggered by input signals that go beyond an adjustable threshold, or can be started and stopped with CV via the REC GATE input. Sampler II can even resample itself, by feeding its outputs into its inputs. With Sampler II, it’s possible to build generative patches that sample and loop themselves as part of the patch, which can lead to some mind-blowing possibilities.
See Sampler I and Sampler II in action:
Vintage Oscillator (free for Voltage Core owners!)
Voltage Modular’s standard Oscillator module is based on the waveforms generated by modern modular equipment, using modern electronics. These oscillators are impressive for their stability and near-perfect waveshapes. Today, we’re proud to announce the release of our new Vintage Oscillator module, another free module for all owners of the Voltage Core package. This module offers all of the features of our standard Oscillator module, plus a 64’ setting and linear frequency modulation. But under the hood, this module recreates the imperfect waveforms created by vintage analog oscillators. Featuring low-aliasing, high-performance oscillator models, plus subtle analog drift and imperfection, the Vintage Oscillator module will add classic tone to your modular patches.
To see and hear what Vintage Oscillator can do, and to compare it to a classic analog synthesizer, please watch this video:
Remote Control ($15)
Yet another revolution in what can be done with Voltage Modular: with the Remote Control module you can control any knob, slider, switch, or button with CV, including the macro knobs in the Perform panel. Mapping a channel to a knob is just a matter of clicking the Learn button and then touching any control in your project. That control will now be fully automatable with CV.
A short demo of the Remote Control:
PSP Poly Modular Collection ($69, or free for PSP Ultimate Modular Collection owners)
PSP has just released this new suite of 8 polyphonic modules for Voltage Modular. The wide set of features included in these modules combine flexibility and creativity with simple to use designs. These are great for building increasingly complex polyphonic patches, and they’re free for owners of the PSP Ultimate Modular Collection.
PSP is showing off their modules for Voltage Modular at The NAMM Show, going on right now. Please visit PSP at Booth 19203 and say hi!
Voltage Modular 1.2.3
We’ve just released a new upgrade of Voltage Modular, featuring support for these new modules, plus efficiency improvements to our plug-in hosting system and to our core module processing code. Be sure to upgrade to Voltage Modular 1.2.3 to get access to all these great new modules! Visit https://store.cherryaudio.com/my/library to download the update - or just run Voltage Modular, which should download the update automatically.
Thanks everyone!
