I never heard that either, but it seems the term is out there . . .

So much to learn. Drums and Cymbals have always been a bit of a mystery to me. For years I simply had one sound/one velocity/one layer on a drum machine for my beats. This is a whole big new world.

The hihats I like to use are pretty fully articulated

There are 129 samples in that one folder. I donno what's up with that for 128 velocities but that's what is there.
S for Shank, T for Tip, 1/4, 1/2, 3/4 open.

'Splash' is relatively rare.

Yup, splash is pretty rare, separate shank and tip hits with the same degrees of closure aren't common either (though a lot of kits will have closed shank and open tip), and I guess some kits out there also have separate samples of bell hits. But Ringo probably wasn't that fancy, heh.

HH bell quite rare IME. I stuck one in there recently for the first time.
But I really want all that in a hat. The most deeply sampled ones I have are those as depicted in Evil Joe drums for BFD2 (now 3).
