Yesterday I had some fun copying out some modules one could see in the NAMM 2019 video. I know things are likely to change, but maybe it get's some brains rolling.

The most important question for me is: will we ever get an allpass filter?

Post

If would be great if they went ahead and released a list of the 120 modules they have so far, (to squash assumptions, relieve doubts, settle hopes) and then got (not Andrew Huang) cEvin Key to demo them. :hihi:

I would hope this new modular environment would have an all pass.

I would love BW open up the module architecture so that anyone could create a new module given the required skills.

I'd prefer Cuckoo to do this. I really have hard time actually liking Huang as a person...

Dave mentions that there are some other features coming in v3

Post

He also said public beta in 3 to 4 weeks and hopes to release v3 in Q2.

Post

quite curious which comes beta comes first, MuLab8 or Bitwig 3, both ones have the same modular concept

Some cool quotes from the video-

Q- How big can the grid get
A- Yes!

I also liked that he was unapologetic about making music being 'fun' and that the grid was about the 'workflow' to keep the music playing whilst you tweak and create....From Live clip launching/arranging to now Live sound design!
I'm much more enthused about it now after seeing it in action than I was when the first announcement came. Overly complicated modular environments that are tedious to work with just don't interest me that much.

This however, looks like it fulfills the 3 F's... fast, fun, fluid!!
What he said x 1000%...

Geez. It’s going to be a long “three or four” weeks... :hyper:

Fair enough. Actually put Cuckoo's then thought about Huang, whom I do like as a person (reminds me of people around me). And my sense is that Huang could bring in a new crowd.
But to each their own.
Besides, it should be said that Thavius Beck does a great job in his Bitwig videos.

Yeah, that SoS video helped me cool down a bit. In a way, it's an occasion to focus on a few other things in my musicking to be ready to spend quality time on BWS3 when the beta starts. Prepped a few things on my Ubuntu MATE laptop (with touchscreen), so that'll help in the testing.

I looked up Cuckoo. First result. :D

Seriously though, I found Cuckoo on youtube, never heard of him, haven't found his music yet, if he has any, and at a glance I'm not seeing a focus on modular, lots of gadgets and boxes it seems. Granted, Key is not a youtube personality/gear review/ect but I chose him because https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CEvin_Key#Discography

And all his modular and other gear in general that he's made many albums with doesn't hurt.
