I was hoping someone could tell me why the following might occur. While using Hive and listening through my bluetooth headphones, a loud click can be heard at the attack or release of a note during playback. This click is obnoxious and unusable if it were truly in the project. Never on the attack and release, not on every note, but most notes will have a click at the attack or release. It doesn't matter what settings are in Hive there is still a click. Of course I concluded at first that it was my headphones, because I never used them before with my computer. Also I had never heard this click on any other speakers. But then no other instrument that I have does this click thing either. There is no click audible through my monitors. Then I noticed later that this only happens in Bitwig Studio but not at all in Fl Studio or Studio One. I know to avoid the problem all I need to do is not use the bluetooth headphones but I am so curious how something like this could happen. So please if anyone knows something or had a similar experience let me know. Sony bluetooth headphones+U-He Hive+Bitwig Studio=CLICK...

There is a rare issue in Hive, producing clicks on the left audio channel under special circumstances.
Mostly happens with Focusrite audio interfaces which use outdated drivers.
But it can also happen with other interfaces.
First, you could try to update the audio interface drivers to the latest version.
You could also try to switch the samplerate, to see if that helps.
And make sure to use an audio buffer size which is a multiple of 16 samples, e.g. 128 or 256 samples. This cures the problem in most cases (though not in all cases).

If you render the parts of the audio where you hear the click during the playback, are the clicks still in the rendered audio or not?

I had a problem with one laptop that all the attacks were very slow, like there would have been a high attack time even if the attack of the ADSR was set to zero. This was caused by the fact that the soundcard automatically went into some kind of a standby mode when no sound was played and once the new sound started playing, it took some time for the soundcard to "wake up". Not sure if this click could also be related to the soundcard or your bluetooth headphones "waking up" and causing this click. Actually, my old Android tablet had very similar problem, causing a click with each new sound. What if you have some other track playing a constant sound and then play with Hive on top of that.. Do you still get the clicks?

Of course if it's only Hive causing this problem then it can be something else...

Yeah a while ago I had some computer speakers that did exactly that - Had like a noise gate where if there was a second or two of silence it'd make a crackle sound and go into standby, then when sound played again another crackle sound and the speakers would start again. The problem was it was so slow to respond turning on that when I played games with very little sound it'd pop so much I just turned the speakers off and make do without sound !

Wonder if the bluetooth 'phones do something similar to save power ?

(tasmaniandevil's multiple of 16 buffer size shout is good too - I know u-he's effects have a 1 or 16 sample latency option in their settings, can't remember if their synths have it as well but certainly worth a check)

I figured it out. Well i figured out how to stop the click but not exactly what was causing it. It was basically because of the option in Bitwig to save as default preset upon loading a plugin. I forgot that I had even done that until clicking around looking at things. Something about my default preset had that click and would carry over to other presets and no tweak of any parameter seemed to get rid of it. But then I found a preset that didn't click for whatever reason I'm not sure what was different. So I just set everything to the defaults I preferred and saved it as my default and the click is gone. When I first reloaded the preset to be sure that it was fixed I practically winced expecting to hear that click again. But yeah its fine now. Who knows what the heck these headphones had to do with it...Thanks a lot you all for your thoughts and suggestions. The "scientist" in me wishes I would have tried your suggestions before catching that it was the preset because I would have found it interesting how it might have affected things. But it's working as desired now and that's what matters.

Maybe something with the buffer settings? Weird indeed

The issue with clicks in the left channel should now hopefully be fixed, once and for all.

If someone experiences this issue and wants to try the fix, I posted the release candidate for the 1.2.1 update yesterday: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=519729
