I have some percussion going using the default channel:
Drumset:
Percussion Studio 2018 -> African microjam
With rhythm:
Percussion Studio 2018 -> 100 bpm Latin conga base
All fine. Now I would like to add some acoustic drums to this. So I click on channel 2 in Quickstart to start with:
Then I load an acoustic drumset. And there goes the congas - gone. What am I doing wrong ?
Cheers.

Yes, set up the additional Rhythm you want on Rhythm channel 2.
LOAD & JOIN the additional drums you want.
MIDI commands on MIDI channel 1 in DAW will play Rhythm 1 (and its associated drums).
MIDI commands on MIDI channel 2 in DAW will play Rhythm 2 (and its associated drums).
Keep in mind that part of the definition of a Rhythm is the Drumtypes involved, but a Drumtype in itself has no sound..you need a sample assigned to it...if you add a Drumtype to the Drum List in Drumset Editor it has no sample yet. But if you load a Drumset, you'll see that the Drumtypes have samples assigned. That's part of the definition of a Drumset: the association of particular samples with Drumtypes. Drumtypes are what link Rhythms to actual sounds. The Rhythm says "I want Bass Drum 1 (a Drumtype)"....the Drumtype in Drumset Editor says " I want this sample".

This works nicely. Still have to familiarize myself with working with this, although basically it works well. For having for instance two C-1 notes/commands at the same time each on a different MIDI channel, I use very brief notes. Drawback is, these notes are microscopic when viewing a clip at the default zoom level.
It would be perfect if Bitwig would display the notes of each MIDI channel using a distinct colour. I can foresee that using this extensively with different MIDI channels, with all notes being of the same colour, could lend itself to some confusion in editing. EDIT: It is possible. Right-clicking in MIDI editor, then Note Colors -> Note Channel. Velocity and Pitch are also available.
That is, while using only one instance of MDrummer. Using several MDrummer instances is another story and I'm not certain about the impact on computer resources.

Mevia, I don't know Bitwig but in Reaper I can toggle the visibility of the notes according to their channel. Another way to do all this is to have separate clips (called items in Reaper) on separate tracks, with those tracks sending their MIDI to another track with MDrummer on it.
