Modifiers do not work. Or am I doing something wrong? (Solved)

Guys, am I doing something wrong or have the modifiers stopped working normally? What's happening?
This is my test project, in which I study Waveform functions, and I have already tested modifiers before, they worked as they should.
For a better understanding of the problem, I recorded a video demonstrating this incomprehensible behavior of modifiers:

You don't really need to touch the assignments tab if you're just using the modifier to control one parameter. The depth and offset controls in the main modifier window are all you need. You should probably set it to bipolar waveform as well. Just adjust these settings until you get the required movement.

This video is just a demonstration that modifiers do not work as they should.
After I assigned the LFO modifier to the parameter, at this moment it should begin to modulate, but this does not happen.
You can adjust any settings, but all the same will not begin to modulate as it should, everything is shown in the video.

I don’t think you have “Automation read” turned on. Try pressing the green “A” in the transport area next to the play/stop etc. buttons

Thank you very much, it helped.
I did not pay attention to this, I did not think that the “Automation read” button would affect the modifiers. :dog:

Modifiers are tied in to the automation system. They act cumulatively on any automation curves.
Having a single button to turn off all automation seemed easier than adding another "Modifier read" button.

You can think of this as "automation curves" and "automation modifiers" are both aspects of "automation".

Now I understand, thanks!

I'm considering from the viewpoint of production, that modifiers are more on the side of the intrinsic sound of the track (like a tremolo or VCF), while automation can often be on the side of arrangement, to make a part of the song louder or brighter or pan it differently etc.
while technically almost the same and interchangeable, the purpose and way of thinking could be very distinct.

I agree.

It's just too many buttons.
To be honest, how often do you turn automation read off?

So un-often for my part that these options could be buried in a popup menu.

To that end, it doesn't bother me too much that these are connected, since I am unlikely to disable either one... but conceptually I agree with HansP that these are different things creatively with different use cases, even though the technical implementation may be related.
