[SOLVED] Upward compressor ?

Can any of the Melda compressors be used as an upward compressor ? A compressor that would augment what's below the threshold line.

MDynamics and the mb version, can do this. There's a small arrow on the processor panel that switches it to process below the threshold rather than the usual above.

and with MDynamicsMB Large version, you can combine upward compressors and downward compressor to get the "ott" effect.

Do you mean Ott as in "Invisible Landscape" (youtube) which is the only piece I would know of ? What example of this dual use could it be ?

I created a new device in MDynamicsMB that is based on OTT, but in my opinion is way better! It is making everything sound great! I doesn't use the little arrow to get the upward compression, as doing this way the ratio doesn't go nearly high enough. So it is a drawn custom processing shape. I will share here if anyone is interested.

Hehe, was it us that talked about OTT about a year ago? I remember digging through forums with Steve Duda trying to find the exact settings. Anyway, I will share it here tomorrow.

parameters are visible in ableton OTT preset, anyway the real purpose is just to combine a upward and downward compressor.

OTT is a preset of ableton multiband dynamics plugins.

OTT is also a free Xfer plugins inspirated from the original ableton dynamics preset.

Before the OTT fashion we used to waveshape to get kind of same result.

Just in case or perhaps to understand why I asked in the first place, knowing nothing about Ableton, Ott is of the psybient style, lots of synths, lots of (Melda ?) processing, effects, samples and loops all flowing rather nicely.
