Is there an easy way to do this in MSF?

Say you’ve got an MP controlling vibrato depth. You would like to give the user an easy way to control that via MIDI using the user’s choice of MW, Expression or AT (assume non-MPE AT for the moment).

Is there an easy way to set that up via a bank MP?

Maybe related but probably not: in the MP target selector window there’s a tree node called “Controller Transform”. Any insights on what this is all about?

Simple: you can now attach "Controller" for each of the MIDI controllers, so you just attach that one to a MP, which should be selecting the controller the user wants.
As for the transformations - I assume these are the normal controllers available from Advanced settings, you can transform these as this is generally about velocity, pressure and other stuff, which varies a lot between MIDI controllers, so this is a good way to make sure it works well with the user's one.

I am afraid I am still totally in the dark. I have no idea what is meant by "so you just attach that one to a MP, which should be selecting the controller the user want". I certainly know how to incorporate a CC to control an MP value. But I don't follow what you're saying here ... hopefully others are equally perplexed and this is not just me being dense.

While on this subject, there's a couple of other mysteries as seen in the screen shots below. First, what is the MIDI Controller category in the Select Parameter window all about? Second, in the MIDI settings window, what's the Utility 113 all about (as opposed to Global 001)? Why is there even a designation beyond the CC number? I see there's also some unchecked User 028 type entries.

Try this:

Set up a MIDI Control(#3 in this case) to target a plug-in parameter (EQ3 /Q3 in this case) and Set a Controller (#3) as the target of a MultiParameter (MP2):



Now when you change the MP value you will see that the MIDI Controller (that is assigned to control that plug-in parameter) changes:

The "MIDI Controllers" category allows you to target various parameters in the MIDI Settings window.

113 (and some others) are those CC# used by ROLI keyboards (for MPE?); you can just think of the text as a reminder.

Unchecked entries are not enabled. Click the box to enable them if you want.

That is a really cool solution. I have another solution for MPE midi CC switching, but I haven’t tested it yet and it might not be as flexable as this.
