Hey everyone. I just purchased Satin and want to ask. I know that it’s anoid question, but anyway. How did you use this sweet tape? On mastering mainly? Or is it possible to use it on the individual tracks? Just really interesting how people use it. As youtubemainly show me this one on the master and for mastering

You can use it on everything and anything!
Yes, signal summing ("mastering") is a natural forte for tape/emulations. It can 'glue' signals together. This could be envisioned as an interaction of saturation. For single tracks, it can add presence and 'warmth.'
Of course, Satin has it's own sound. Yet, the 'tape sound' is biased toward odd harmonics. Enhancing odd harmonics might be described as adding 'air.' Counter-intuitively though, the tape sound actually attenuates high frequencies.
As always, use your ears! A knob is a knob is a virtual knob ... use your ears. Ultimately, I think you'll really enjoy Satin; it was my entry purchase to U-he land--after which they've beguiled me with synthesizers, which was never a thing for me.

Btw, the "format conversion" ability for decoding old tapes, plus the tape reverb, delay and flange effects are all serious extras! There's also the group feature, which is quite powerful. Although, this feature only works for me when Bitwig is in 'single plugin-host process mode;' 'independent process per plugin mode' breaks this.

It's a toolbox and I love it for creative applications. Delay and all that comes from it—chorus and flange, is all there. The group feature can be handy so modulations on different tracks can sync and aren't fighting with each other (though poly modulation rates can be good too).
You can also do the Dolby trick as an exciter, straight up, or as part of a delay, to bring back more of that high end.

WOW! that's really nice! Thank you very much! Seems that Satin is really powerful tool for individual tracks and master as well!yellowmix wrote: Fri Feb 08, 2019 11:24 pm It's a toolbox and I love it for creative applications.
