Hi folks,

next update is here ;). 12.12 is an important update and comes with several new improvements, features and some fixes. It is recommended to install this update. To do that, get the newest version from MeldaProduction download page and use it.

Additionally MDoubleTracker, a classic stereo expander designed to make guitars, vocals and other materials huge and wide, has been released. It is free for MCompleteBundle, MTotalFXBundle and MMixingFXBundle users and now available for an introductory price. It has been added to MXXX, MPowerSynth and MDrummer as well.

From what I can see on the website, the doubletracking effect is randomized over time, to simulate perfect doubletracking. Is this true? I've never heard of a unit doing this so it really wows me! So typical Melda!

How 'bout "Melda - expect more". ;)

Thanks for all the recent FREEBIES! How in the world do you have time to keep churning these plugins out??

BTW, I tried out MDoubleTracker this weekend and it sounds amazing!

Sold, to the man who's sometimes too lazy to play things twice! Sounds really good - much better than I've ever been able to manage myself by messing with delays/pitch etc, and better than any other similar software thing I've tried. Nice.

Really enjoying the MDoubleTracker, especially with multiple instances on the same track. (Almost, nearly, kinda, sorta gets a wall-of-sound going.)
One thing that I tried that was good for tonal variety was to place the effect on a 'send' track and place an EQ either before or after the effect to simulate a tone knob. With enough tone changes you get even closer to the wall-of-sound!

Thank you folks!

SparkySpark: "Perfect" double tracking is imho quite impossible, the human factor is just hard to mimic, but often the human factor is actually more like a problem, at least if I'm playing :D. Anyways yes, it is changing over time and if that's not enough, you can modulate everything and stuff.. :D

mibby: Thank you! Well, workaholism is a problem... :D

werzel: Interesting! Didn't think about using multiple instances... hmmm :tu:

Regarding using several instances  I wonder if it would be a smart idea to incorporate a formant filter! If we have multiple instances with different panning and formants, then we could really get a true wall of (vocal) sound, or rather a bunch of background singers.

Maybe this would be too close to MUnison though, I don't know.

Anyone interested in how Mdoubletracker compares to some of the other doubler plugins out there can check out this comparison I just posted. https://groovetools.blogspot.com/2019/0 ... ugins.html

You should add BozDigital's Provocative, it's a good one too!

Actually I made a video doing just that, with a bedroom recording rather than professional:

Since I got no feedback there, I posted the same message in Gearslutz. The discussion that followed should be interesting to readers of this thread. Basically the others say doubletrackers are not helpful, for a number of reasons:

That thread should be of interest to Melda as well, since I believe some of what they are saying is wrong.

Some good advice on the GS thread and interesting perspectives. Everything has it's place, and whatever sounds best in the context of the song.

For example, I'm working on a mix with 2 double-tracked strummed acoustic parts (4 tracks) - IMHO it was a cluttered mess and way overdone. So I grabbed the acoustic track with the tone and performance I liked best and I slapped MDoubleTracker on it and was like "Wow!". I tried Provocative, Microshift and EchoBoy (my usual go-tos) to make sure, and the Melda plug just really worked better for this track and did it without too much fussing around. Just what was needed! :tu:

How long the Mdoubletracker introductory pricing is going to last?
