Well, no, CC 74 is the slide motion on Roli (up/down on the key), whereas CC11 is not directly assigned to any of the 5 motions.

Post

? I mean use CC74 instead of CC11 for Control B.

Post

Right, I got what you said... But if Ctrl A is used way more in the patches, you'd want THAT modulation to be more readily available on Roli, no? So I'd rather have CC 74 doing Ctrl A so you have direct control over that with the slide motion. Ctrl B would have to be brought in via a slider or some other controller then. I have it set up like that over here and it's really nice!

So is the Roli page on Diva outdated? It says to use Multichannel rather than MPE... and it seems to imply that Multichannel mode allows Glide and Press, but not polyphonic Slide or Lift.

(I'll test it myself later... got Diva as part of the NI bundle, when I really just wanted two or maybe three of the effects, with the intent to try them out for 9 months and then sell what I decide I don't want. From the description I was about 60% likely to keep Diva, but if it's fully MPE compatible and usable with Slide and Lift, I'll definitely keep it... maybe even Repro too, though I don't care that much about the nostalgia factor and there are other MPE synths I want to get.)

There's no u-he plugins that support lift/release velocity, unfortunately. Huge oversight that I hope will be remedied sooner rather than later :)

Post

What else other than envelope release times make sense to modulate through release velocity?

Post

Pitch (octave or two up to simulate stuff like harpsichord release noise that would be slightly different depending on release velocity - decades old rompler trick), cutoff... anything really? :)

The point is, if you have velocity as mod source, why discriminate against release velocity then? It's super fun to put different stuff on release velocity (ofc provided you have a controller that sends it), I find. It's seemingly a small thing, but it can increase expressivity.

Post

+1 Would be great to support lift velocity.

LFO level and speed... so release velocity brings in an LFO on release of the note giving a vibrato or gated sound only on release.

I think it needs a curve though, so it can be controlled a bit better.

Modmapper :)

Are the curves/quantize/rectify/slew limiter options for the mod targets brand new for 1.2 (I didn't use Hive prior)? I see them in Twangstrom too, but nothing else, so these being brand new would make sense. If so, I guess it's safe to say they'll eventually trickle down to RePro in some future update and eventually end up Z3 and anything else with the U-he style mod matrix. Very simple, subtle implementation. :tu:

No, they were there in v1.1.

Hope they work their way out to the rest of the line (where applicable). Thanks.
