I'd like to give you the benefit of the doubt, but a happy person probably would have apologized for calling a person a liar by mistake (maybe not even called anyone a liar to begin with). On that note, you have my sympathies. I hope you cheer up. Drink some passion tea by tazo :D

you cleary don't understand

vst virtual studio technology (format)

vsti instrument
vstfx effect

its pretty simple

calling something a vst doesnt define it as an instrument

Hesitated. So many synths, tools, real-life instruments.... Do I really need more? Caved on the last day of the sale and bought Diva and Repro. Now playing Repro-5 - without crackling :) - WOWWWW it is insanely good. I always wanted Diva but missed the introduction offer and couldn't justify spending the full price to myself. Wasn't very aware of Repro until recently. I was born in the 70's, grew up in the 80's, so the love of warm pad sounds is innate, but I never really found what I was looking for. Until now... I'm home, all warm and fuzzy... Thank you, Urs

repro is fantastic; i love the sound it makes. also it's not polyphonic but i love the self-modulating Oscillator B in repro-1

Pretty sure I can use your banks on AUs...
Which are not VSTs or VSTis.

edit:
VST is a Steinberg tech btw.

There is a lot to like about the OS (and certain hardware features) but these days Apple shoots itself in the foot more often than not with their hardware and pricing strategies. It's certainly much easier to convince people to jump ship now, that's for sure.

I don't mind one bit. I haven't bought a brand new macbook pro in about 15 years. I just scour craigslist for some dejected graphics designer whose project fell through or some young techie that got a job at Microsoft and thinks they care if he uses a macbook at work. :hihi:
Brand new almost machines at almost half price, there has to be some advantage to living in an area overcrowded and overpriced by Amazon and Microsoft.. :borg: :borg: :borg: :borg: :borg:

I am starting to make sure to use more and more cross platform applications though, I'm not convinced the next Mac Pros will be anywhere near a reasonable price, and a Windows desktop will probably be in my future when this 09 beast dies. I want to continue to use the laptops though, I haven't been convinced by any competing machines that Apple is losing it there..

Kinda same for me. If only they hadn't severely messed up audio performance with their "security" chip on the newest gen macs...

With any hardware you need to be careful for sure. I haven't heard about the security chip issue, if you got a link point me there, it's almost time to start hunting again, my mom needs a laptop and the one I have is still fine.

There was an Intel bug about 9 years ago that had laptops powering down and not responding in time to sudden jumps in CPU, Akoustic Piano would hiccup on my machine when it hit MIDI in Live unless I has a little hack running that tickled the CPU and drive to keep them awake.. :dog:
