I inquired about the lists of what is in each version and have confirmed that we plan to release them before the pre-order pricing is finished.
Of course SampleTank 4 MAX will have the most new content (200GB+ as stated previously), but I understand many would like to see the specific differences in the three offerings before making a decision so I've tried to be vigilant about obtaining the lists soon. Thank you for your patience.

Peter, just a couple of quick questions regarding the new ST4:
1. In one of the overview videos, IK describes the new effects panel as being able to modulated similarly to how you can in the mod matrix. The segment was really brief and it only showed about 1 mod slot I believe for the effects. Will the effects be able to be modulated by any of the internal LFOS/envelopes or external MIDI CC's?
2. In ST2, we were able to preview samples before importing them in. This functionality was lost in ST3. Is ST4 still going to lack auditioning samples before importing?

The FX MODS section will allow for multiple MODS to be loaded. Each MOD has a SOURCE (Macro selection), a DESTINATION (Parameter you wish to control), and an AMOUNT control (The amount the Parameter will be affected). These can be controlled through external MIDI by learning the MARCO control to a MIDI CC message (Right click -> MIDI Learn), but not the internal LFO or Envelops at this time.Saukar30 wrote: Tue Feb 12, 2019 4:27 pm Peter, just a couple of quick questions regarding the new ST4:

Currently, I don't believe this is a planned feature, but I will be more than happy to pass along your interest in this topic.Saukar30 wrote: Tue Feb 12, 2019 4:27 pm

Thanks for the quick answers Ryan. So the effects are only controlled by the macro controls (1-8), but these, as in ST3 can be controlled by MIDI CC. That's not so bad I guess, and easier to implement.
As far as importing, Ive always felt like this is Sampletank's weak point: user friendly sample capabilities. I understand that IK would prefer to keep their system closed, but on the user end, it's very awkward for 2019 standards.

Will someone buying a second-hand license of ST3 still get a good deal on the ST4 upgrade?

Yes, a second hand purchase registered to an account will be seen as 'second hand', but this will offer the same upgrade/crossgrade options as a new license.el-bo (formerly ebow) wrote: Tue Feb 12, 2019 6:10 pm Will someone buying a second-hand license of ST3 still get a good deal on the ST4 upgrade?

There's also discussion of some much more detailed possibilities for import/editing in the future, so thank you for that great question.
We're a couple of days away from release so I look forward to thoughts on SampleTank 4 when available.

EST is 5 hours behind GMT. So, for example, 10:00 EST = 15:00 GMTPeter_IK, on IK Multimeida forum wrote:We don't have a specific time, but it will be in the early portion of the day EST most likely.

Thanks. I can see this taking a while given the size of the library.DarkStar wrote: Thu Feb 21, 2019 1:09 pmEST is 5 hours behind GMT. I can't wait! This is gonna be fun! I hope that there arent many bugs in this 1st release.
Last question. Will we have to convert ST3 sounds or is ST4 just able to read them as is?
