Guessing the Ranking of U-He Synths by Sales Numbers

1. Diva (I am guessing that if you combine all of Diva's sales it might be 50% of all sales with Urs)
2. Repro (I am guessing it was 3rd but due to NI sale it is now number 2)
3. Zebra 2 (My personal favorite but I think it under performs in sales due to the seen complexity)
4. Hive (I think this also under perfomred due to competition from Syrum with its lack of wavetable)
5. ACE (Due to it being the cheapest Synth this actually might be much higher but it might actually be the lowest in sales) My go to VST for bass sounds
6. Bazile (Lowest sales due to its complexity and people directing people to try out ACE first and people finding ACE is pretty awesome and something that is enough for a lot of people)
2. Repro (I am guessing it was 3rd but due to NI sale it is now number 2)
3. Zebra 2 (My personal favorite but I think it under performs in sales due to the seen complexity)

Bitwig is my DAWs and UHe and Tracktion Synths are my Bae. I maybe buy one synth a year. REMEMBER SELF just one synth a year!

That seems about right, I think.
And once again FilterscapeVA is forgotten about
(yeah, I know it's technically "just" an addition to Filterscape, so it maybe doesn't really count).

Well, yeah, Diva certainly overtook Zebra in the past few days and Repro most certainly made top 3. Even if all Repro codes we provided NI with were sold out, it would still have a few miles to go to reach Zebra. Sales of these two are usually on par each month.
Hive has probably sold more often than ACE now. It's the synth with the greatest potential among our user base. Which is why we invest a bit into it now to make it an absolute must have. I think 2.0 is going to be insanely good.

Haven't checked Filterscape and MFM2 sales lately, we'll probably schedule them for makeovers after Uhbik.

I'm not a musician, but I've designed sounds that others use to make music. http://soundcloud.com/obsidiananvil

Bazille sort of wears its complexity as a badge of honor, it seems to me.
And yet it's not even that complex, at least not in a world in which people are more and more using stuff like VCV and Reaktor Blocks, etc. And now we have a modular synth in Reason, and TAL-Mod -- it seems the spirit of virtual-cable synths is beginning to gain some popularity, perhaps.
Bazille functions pretty much just like any of those named above (plus a lot more functionality yes), with the notable exception of the 'digital' FM / phase distortion Oscs instead of more traditional analog modelling fare.
And then of course there is the matter of the ridiculous sequencer, which imho could be so much better if it were deliberately made more user friendly. The inability to "draw" across the steps (including in quantized values) rather than having to set them one-by-one would go a long way to making it more fast / fun / intuitive. And of course the Rotate knob is nigh-on-worthless to a non veteran/geek. Which is to say: it's WAY too hard to program it properly for what essentially seem like simple tasks! (e.g. moving it one full-sequence forward after the previous sequence has completed, c'mon!). Reason's new modular synth Complex-1 has an approachable step sequencer that is very fun to use both as a modulation source and as a (quantized to note scale) note trigger. Bazille's sequencer, if it wanted to appear worthy of broader appeal, could certainly learn a lot by looking at how Complex-1 implemented things...
just thoughts!

I am so glad Zebra 2 keeps selling so well. It is by far my favorite virtual synth due to how good the pads can sound. Looking forward to picking up Hive at some point.Urs wrote: Mon Feb 18, 2019 4:15 pm Well, yeah, Diva certainly overtook Zebra in the past few days and Repro most certainly made top 3. I bought Diva due to the sale and it is great for designing my own sounds so far.

I'm very aware of the sequencer's shortcomingsmholloway wrote: Tue Feb 19, 2019 5:13 pmAnd then of course there is the matter of the ridiculous sequencer, which imho could be so much better if it were deliberately made more user friendly. There are a bunch of cool ideas to make it a lot more useful (single outs for the first sequence of all 8 snapshots, scale options for quantizers and/or quantized mod inputs on Oscs). But those won't happen this year anymore...

Great news! I love MFM2, as indecipherable as it seemed for so long, and am excited about this prospect.
