Not to rain on anybody's parade, but I had all kinds of problems trying to get that device to work with Waveform. I was never able to, and UA was not as helpful as they might have been.

I didn't have any problems with W10 itself, as I was able to get the interface to work with Reaper. The problem was with Waveform, as best I could tell. However, that was a while back. Who knows, things may have gotten better since then.

I assume, since you're on a Tracktion formum, that you want to use the UA with Waveform? If not, you might want to check on a forum for the software you actually will be using. My guys is that if you have any problems--and you may not--they're likely to be with the specific DAW you're using, not so much with Windows itself.

Thunderbolt issues with PCs aren't unknown, however, if it works with one DAW, it should work with all. It's abstracted as a pure audio device by the point it gets to the DAW. That said, I know nothing about UA plug-ins other than they're expensive.

The biggest advantage is that they do their processing on the external hardware instead of using the computer's CPU, which frees CPU power to be used for other tasks, allowing you to run more plugins simultaneously without taxing your computer.

I certainly would have thought so too; it stands to reason. But in my experience, that just wasn't the case.
