I resolved the pak file error by downloading all piano sounds. It turned out that some files were missing. Maybe those who you who have/had the same problem must redownload the missing instruments.

Just one question to the people who have the max version. Which of the ST3 addons would you recommend installing? I'd like to save some space so I've only installed the additional pianos and the American Acoustic.

It all depends ... your taste / needs will not be the same as anyone-else's.

I would download them all and try them out - perhaps install them into a different folder path (as ST4 supports multiple paths) . You can always remove them later. But, remember to keep a back-up so that you do not need to download any again or run into a Download Reactivation fee 180 days after you Registered ST4.

Talvin wrote: Fri Mar 01, 2019 5:48 pm Is there a solution to the missing .pak files yet? For me it's some of the piano sounds that don't load. I updated everything to version 4.02, also the sounds.
is this the same issue as the one i'm seeing? i still haven't resolved
See my reply above as there should no longer be such an issue post-4.0.2. If you still have issues after installing the sound library updates and 4.0.2 released yesterday please work with IK Support (or continue to do so) as they will be able to assist you directly with the issue you are having.
Hi Peter,

Support has been non-responsive. I have sent several messages to them but not one response. My ticket is 194993

As I understand it:
-- MP1 (and ST2, SampleMoog etc) are not directly supported by ST4,
-- you should be able to get ST Custom Shop from your User Area and install it,
-- then Import MP1 into the ST3 Library.
-- and add that ST3 library to ST4.

But ... I did see one user report that the ST3 Custom Shop library did not work (could not be seen?) in ST4.
This worked, thanks.

Thank you for updating the usb before shipping it out. I'd rather wait and have a good product than rush and have a broken one.

What definitely needs to be fixed is the stability of Sampletank 4. Never had problems before. With the new version I had to raise my dropout protection in Studio One because notes get stuck or there are latency problems. In addition I experience regular crashes to desktop (Windows 10).

I'm still positive because I'm sure the problems will be fixed soon and the sample quality has definitely improved.

This concerns me also as I had the same issues with Sampletank 3.7. What are your system specs? And it's the only vst I have that crashes Studio One(v2.5 which never crashes on it's own)

I'm on Windows 10 Pro, Studio One 4, 16GB ram and a Roland Quad Capture sound card.

What I've tried now is manually removing the VST3 version and installing the VST2 version. Been playing around with Sampletank 4 for a while and haven't experienced any more crashes.

I've been following this forum closely and decided to download and install my Sample Tank 4 upgrade today, hoping all the bugs have been worked out.

I've seen it mentioned by some others but have not seen a resolution - when I go to select an instrument the Sample Tank 4 sound library has a lock icon on it and clicking it brings me to the buy page. Is a second serial number required for the sound library? I see nothing of the sort on the My Products page at IK. I've used the Authorization Manager to authorize Sample Tank 4. I've tried rebuilding the database a number of times using the Sample Tank 4 content path alone, the Sample Tank 3 content path alone, and both together. Sample Tank 4 works with the Sample Tank 3 content, although only if the Sample Tank 3 content is the first of the two paths in the list, which seems to be another bug. I have a support ticket in, but perhaps someone here has a quick answer.

Thanks,

Randy

Which version did you install? There were couple of updates, and the first update corrected the lock for me.
Windows 10 and too many plugins

Version 4.0.2 (9B26) is the version I downloaded last night, which seems to be the latest. Glad your lock was fixed - I suppose I will have to await a response from support.

so now as an advanced pc user , the only solution ive seen now to use imported ST2 Multis are to resave every single ST2 imported multi one by one with ST3 .

after that make an copy of them (because after this notepad change ST3 cant open it anymore about the path) use a new folder like "SampleTank 4 ST2 Imported" and copy the resaved ST2 Imported Multis to this new Folder , open the resaved one with an text editor of your choice and change the //Imports/ entry to //Imported Instruments/ as example :

<InstrumentPath>//Imports/SampleMoog/1978 Multimoog/Electro G.st3i</InstrumentPath>

to

<InstrumentPath>//Imported Instruments/SampleMoog/1978 Multimoog/Electro G.st3i</InstrumentPath>

now copy the new folder with the edited one to the ST4 Multi Folder . (as i already mentioned the edited ones with the path dont work with ST3 anymore , only with ST4 as an temporairly solution)

now you can use them with ST4 .

my question are why IKM Developer didnt found it out and why it didnt gots tested properly before putting it out to the masses ?

and as i said in an previous post and dont want everytime to open an support ticket , as i have also other things to do and not always the time to do an public beta test for ikm after the product have released .

another thing are as example if you have buy an upgrade to ST4 Max and dont had before all Max Content with ST3 why it can not be unlocked within ST3 as Max without purchasing the expansions separately again ?

i dont want bashing IKM but that are poor imo .

Question for those who have already installed:

In the manual, I was delighted to see that multiple directories could be specified for ST4 content. I have not as yet downloaded any of the sounds. Does the download or the sounds installer allow you to direct various types of content to different places. For example, could I install the synth sounds on an SSD and the orchestra sounds on an HDD?
