I submitted a help ticket on February 28, and haven’t heard a peep out of Support.

What is your ticket number? They reply within 1-2 business days. If that isn't the case, PM your ticket number and I can have someone look into what happened in your case.

What definitely needs to be fixed is the stability of Sampletank 4. Never had problems before. With the new version I had to raise my dropout protection in Studio One because notes get stuck or there are latency problems. In addition I experience regular crashes to desktop (Windows 10).

I'm still positive because I'm sure the problems will be fixed soon and the sample quality has definitely improved.

I'm sure your issue will be fixed, as support is able to assist those who may still have issues after 4.0.2 fixed crashing overall. Those who may still have an issue on their system are being assisted directly.

Why? I believe I replied directly before with what you'd get as far as installers and that documented issues that have been fixed will not be an issue when you get your USB version.

I would refer to the official status of global issues if you are worried about anything (as they are fixed and marked as such). Anything that is global will be marked as such and rectified but I'm not seeing any to be added to the official status at this time. I will keep it updated, though, as I'm made aware of them.

There seems to be somthing strange going on with the memory handling relating to SampleTank 4.

Correct me if I’m wrong but It appears that the memory is not being released when changing presets and begins to add up with every change.

I guess I need to ask, isn’t this supposed to be disk streaming?

Yes, ST4 does have disk streaming.

I would do a specific set of preset changes, noting the memory usage at each stage and reporting it to Technical Support so that they can replicate your test and investigate.

I saw this mentioned elsewhere and others chimed in that they weren't having the same issue. I believe a ticket was opened and if there is a global issue I'll add it to the status but seems it might be somewhat isolated. I wasn't seeing it on two installs here, either.

so now as an advanced pc user , the only solution ive seen now to use imported ST2 Multis are to resave every single ST2 imported multi one by one with ST3 .

after that make an copy of them (because after this notepad change ST3 cant open it anymore about the path) use a new folder like "SampleTank 4 ST2 Imported" and copy the resaved ST2 Imported Multis to this new Folder , open the resaved one with an text editor of your choice and change the //Imports/ entry to //Imported Instruments/ as example :

<InstrumentPath>//Imports/SampleMoog/1978 Multimoog/Electro G.st3i</InstrumentPath>

to

<InstrumentPath>//Imported Instruments/SampleMoog/1978 Multimoog/Electro G.st3i</InstrumentPath>

now copy the new folder with the edited one to the ST4 Multi Folder . (as i already mentioned the edited ones with the path dont work with ST3 anymore , only with ST4 as an temporairly solution)

now you can use them with ST4 .

Though you have a workaround (thanks for that!) this is logged and I have now added it to the official SampleTank 4 Status thread as follows, noting it is fixed in the next update:

Memory starts at X
ST4 start memory usage: +2.1
Load c7 grand binaural: +1.2
Replace with basses pizzicato: +.17
Replace with rain: +.120

Keeps rising

Empty the slot: still at the 2.1. + 1.2 + .17 + .12

Remove the vst3 from host: returns to X

it is the same here and i also mentioned it here in this thread somewhere a few pages back , loading ST4 without any added Instruments have already 2,1 GB within the Memory and thats real too much , loading a few instances of ST4 with alot instruments loaded you will run out of memory and crashes the most DAW´s . and thats for ST4 only , just imagine if you will load other instruments besides ST4 what there will be happen .

ST3 memory load are an lightweight compared to ST4 memory load .

there are also another bug while saving own ST4 Multis , it will be only save to:

C:\your Name\Documents\IK Multimedia\SampleTank 4\Multis

choosing the Library Path Multi Folder where Multis can be stored and read , it will not save and ends up with an error message .

like D:\Your SampleTank 4 Library Path\Multis

the error message are:

"Multi must be stored in the SampleTank 4 folder inside the Multis folder."

The status thread is read only on purpose. The main SampleTank 4 thread is always there for discussion. I believe there was another thread with an isolated RAM issue that was either marked a dupe due to already being mentioned on the main ST4 thread, too.
