How do I get Van Halen "Jump" sound?

Short poly portamento.

True! Didn't even remember the OB-X(d) had it, I did my version several years ago (maybe it could use slightly more of the poly portamento, might be that missing "attack" element I was talking about earlier). I think many "Jump" patches try to overdo the portamento / pitch mod, it has to be really short & subtle.

And yes, everyone is free to ridicule the sound/song all they want, but heck, every time I hear the beginning of this song, I just feel like shouting "YEEEAAAH!".
