ok, totally fed up.

i have a bunch of presets saved as individual sounds.
i can load them one by one.
i can create a new bank.
i can even load that bank into the "blank" bank.

but i can't figure out how to save the bank and get it to appear in the bank list in eve.

i thought that loading my bank into the "blank" slot then choosing "save current presets as factory" sounded logical. but no, the "blank" bank stays blank.

it shouldn't be this hard - or i shouldn't be this dim.

please tell me which

Right i'll guess here as i dont own EVE but once you press save factory presets this creates a bank file in the same directory as the EVE dll ,You need to move that bank file into your bank folder and renbame it whatever you like :D (This is how its done in WS so i think its the same)

So when I click on "save presets" and WS asks "Save current presets as factory?". If I say no does it save it to the bank I am working on. Or is the factory bank the only one I can save to.

Now i understand the confusion ,No it doesn't save in to the factory bank ,It makes a new one and puts it into the same folder as the dll ,You then have to place this bank file in the banks folder ,Hope this helps.

hmm.

for me the bank is saved as a "effect bank file" (using the "export cubase bank" function in fl studio)

in the main eve directory this is then shown as a "effect bank file" rather than a BNK file

consequently it is perhaps no suprise that the bank *does not* show up in the eve bank list

has anybody actually created a new bank from within fl studio ?

thanks

I just did. Sort of. Select the bank you want to modify. Tick allow program editing. Modify the patch as you wish and rename in the menu at top left of vst window. Click on save presets and say yes to "Save presets as factory?". That will write the changes to a bank called EVE.bnk in the same directory as the .dll. You can then name it whatever you want and put it in you're EVE banks folder. That is about all I have come up with.

Now that bank should be accesible the same way as any other bank?

Yes, for sure. It is just a bit of a pain that when you do the smallest tweak you have to go to the EVE.dll folder, get the bnk file, copy it to the EVEbank folder and overwrite the old bank.

that's truly woeful. unbeliebavle that someone would make a device with such a hopeless new bank system. in fact this smells more like a workaround to me and that there actually was *no* thought given to new user banks :?

if that's the best eve can manage i think i'll have to just keep loading invidual patches as needed.

but thanks very much for the information. i'm not crazy then, it's eve that's hopeless :D

as Nu Audio Science noticed that is the "system" William devised and still uses in WS,

it was not intended to created custom BNK files,
but only a deafult one, so it's indeed a workaround
to rename the EVE.Bnk and move it to "EVE Banks"
folder, anyway it works,

like I did for the Data folder location I may upgrade
the bank save system to the custom method you ask,

on the other hand many EVE users are happy by simply using the standard FXB format,
