Hello,

today I tried out tracktion for Linux. I use some wine wrapped plugins but not too many, yet the ones that I use are essential to me.

I noticed that the gui totally breaks, it kind of just doesn't work. I can't see the inputs and outputs, closing button etc, basically the DAW plugin faceplate on plugins. Is that normal?

Works fine in Reaper.

Thanks,
Robin

Can you upload a screenshot? Maybe that might give us some clues?

it also looks like it gets started as an app outside of Waveform too, basically a separate app. Would make sense in that case too, tho idk why the hell would that be happening.

Hmm, Wine isn't really supported yet as there's a lot of 3rd party variables in play.
Have you tried using something like Carla? That handles windows plugin hosting doesn't it?

It does but really badly.. :/

I'm not sure if this might work but worth a try .... open your wine configuration ( winecfg ) and check that you are allowing the window manager to decorate the windows in the 'Graphics' tab. apply and save ., might do no harm to reboot wine ( wineboot ) before restarting Waveform.

Will check shortly. Thanks:)

Hi,

what wrapper do you use?
LinVst has special Tracktion workarounds for this case:

https://github.com/osxmidi/LinVst
Tracktion/Waveform might have an embedded window offset problem where the plugin's gui is misaligned with the Tracktion/Waveform plugin window and requires overwriting the LinVst files with the files in the Tracktion folder.

Thats probably the case, although I have no idea what they mean by that really :/

well, you need to build patched LinVst by self, it's not difficult task
