Is there any way to convert recorded monophonic audio to midi in W10?
I know Melodyne editor can do it.But unfortunately I can't afford the upgrade.
Cheers

Melodyne Essentials that comes with Waveform will convert audio to midi if you use the vst3 ara version. It's only the standalone product that won't because it can't save a midi file.

Thanks for reply, I tried the M/Essentials, on the clip and also in the plugin area. I was pretty sure I had the vst 3 version installed, but couldn't see any way to export or record the midi out, to a different track. Will try again tomorrow. Cheers

You click "Convert to midi clip" in the control/actions panel.

My original mistake was, I thought you could convert to midi from the vst plugin.
I have tried using the time stretch option,of adding Melodyne then clicking the convert to midi in the control panel area, first checking it was transferred into Melodyne and that it showed and played the phrase, but on converting to midi, it just doesn't convert what is there. It is missing a lot of notes and is not even close to the phrasing.
Not sure what I may be doing wrong,or if it's Melodyne. I had tried a couple of demo vst plugins that play about 3 seconds of the clip that seem to get it right. A bit stumped here.

I seem to remember it doesn't stick to the clip boundaries but creates midi for the whole audio file which may be longer than the clip. I used to flatten the clip first to avoid this. Also check which algorithm Melodyne is using, some work better than others.

Managed to get a file, a couple of notes missing.
I exported the part, then imported it into a new edit. And converted to midi. Don't know why it didn't work when the part was in the original edit.
Thanks for the help, will need to do some home work with Melodyne.
