So i have been using Zebra 2 and now Zebra HZ for quite some time and at first as much as i how i love new Zebra HZ UI i couldnt pinpoint exactly why the workflow was a little bit somehow different, not as fast and a bit harder to get around until i noticed some GUI and layout things that were i would consider as a added bonus "feature" in Zebra 2 and were removed from Zebra HZ. So let me begin:

1. Ability to select oscillator wave. What was the logical reason to remove it? it prevents tabbing :)
2. Now on to bottom part of the synth:

Aesthetics:

Why Zebra HZ has to have numbers behind module tabs FMO 1-4, MM 1-12, Comp 1-4, MSEGS 1-8? In zebra 2 there was no need for that and now we suddenly need it? we know its FMO and there will be more then 1 module, we know there will be more then 1 slot of mods in the matrix (hence the name matrix...) it doesnt make sense and the tabs that are already squizeed, makes the even more busy.

Why Arp/Seq change to Arp/ctrl?

Continuing on aesthetics, i also dont understand why to blend effects with the effect matrix. On regular version its just separated visualy and it makes perfect sense, its organised.

I know it might be a bit like a rant, but those small things that were in new zebra 2 gui really made workflow improvements, just by having everything organised and not looking too busy. And for Zebra HZ despite adding some improvements (like bigger modules, Arp/Seq less cramped and "easier" to to get around because of that, colored X/Y to differentiate from 1 - 4) it actually took away things that improved Zebra 2. Whats a bit funny, Zebra 2 has more tabs at the bottom then ZHZ and looks less busy

This man knows his Zebras! (He has earned his stripes?)

The matrix is twice the size than the one in Zebra so it needs two tabs, hence the numbers. I agree that the numbers aren't necessary for FMO, MSEG and COMP.

Yeah this does look nicer and more comfortable (improvized Q for SEQ, tho :)):

Well im not saying to make 1 tab, its obvious there has to be 2 tabs for matrix. Its nice to see some one does agree on that! :D also very nice improvisation, really does look cleaner!. And that reverb effect part if only could have separation from effect matrix (or same color as the left bottom part (pitch, glide, voice, micro tuning) i think would look even better :)

I agree, the FX grid should have a border around it at the very least.

I wonder is it possible to chane within the script.

Nope, this needs graphics tweaks.

I'd also like to know why this feature is removed from ZHZ... :?

Even the creator of Zebra HZ soundset is agreeing :)

I wonder if Uhe gonna do these small changes sometime in the future :D

Ok, im going to bring back again this, but not because of GUI, because of another annoying thing, hopefuly this can be fixed.

Factory content of HZ levels. Really patch levels should be normalized, its annoying every time move loudnesss knob because patch difference is between 20-10 db. Sorry for the rant :)

If this was custom built for Hans Zimmer, then i'm guessing he gets the last word on any changes to his synth?
Just a guess
