Just tried on my works pc, so it was MS Sound Mapper only, 512 / 44.1 K / 2 threads (Auto) / load limit 90.
Both running between 26 to 35 % with M8 only that 1% higher than M7 so yea no real difference, will try on home pc later too.

Personally I do like being able to click on elements at any point to delete, but what abut if when right click deletes notes is true a ctrl+right click would bring up the context menu? Because currently it has no added function and deletes anynway.mutools wrote: Wed Mar 27, 2019 8:57 am No such way. A right-click can only do one thing. Maybe that preference should be changed in "Right-click start/end of notes = Delete notes". That way right-clicking the start/end of a note will delete it, right-clicking the body of a note pops up its context menu. What do you think?
Otherwise I think Ill probably just start getting used to ctrl+Rclicking on things to delete them, not a problem.

Mmm, it doesn't resonate with me, sorry.jamiethelin wrote: Wed Mar 27, 2019 1:41 pm Personally I do like being able to click on elements at any point to delete, but what abut if when right click deletes notes is true a ctrl+right click would bring up the context menu? You do have a point that in M8 there is an unwanted overlap between right-click = delete notes and right-click = event context menu. Will reflect on that.
Thx.

Just run the test
Auto (4)
Quiescent, M7.7.4 6% (Max hit 16%) -> 5%; M8.0.52 -> 10% (Max hit 34%)
Playing, M7.7.4 -> 20% (Max hit 37%); M8.0.52 -> 25% (Max hit 46%)
I'll try it again with 7 cores, in case it's wrong about my AMD CPU.

OK, 7 cores:
Quiescent, M7.7.4 7% (Max hit 21%) -> 5%; M8.0.52 -> 14% (Max hit 31%)
Playing, M7.7.4 -> 24% (Max hit 58%); M8.0.52 -> 30% (Max hit 54%)
These are from the MuLab meters
This is what the Windows Performance view was showing:

I have spotted unexpected behaviour in the sequence editor with respect to mudrum and any mux which uses note key names:
When clicking on the note name in the editor on certain notes it plays the relevant sound when clicked near to the left, but when clicked further to the right will play the sound of the note below.
Attached a short video to demonstrate this.
I also rechecked with M7 and could not reproduce this there, so its new to m8
