"homeless" is non-sequitur to "busking".an-electric-heart wrote: Wed Mar 27, 2019 8:38 pmI was just saying; Busking's not just for homeless people, there's good money in it. I have a good job in a museum, but still busk every now and then.AnX wrote: Wed Mar 27, 2019 7:44 pmdid it get you a job in a mastering studio?an-electric-heart wrote: Wed Mar 27, 2019 7:30 pm I busk... and make s**t-loads. I go out for an hour and get $100+. So yeah, don't knock busking, I pays better than gigging in clubs... for me anyway.
It came up. I don't know how "I write and mix/master EDM in my spare time" is part of a path to a paying job in mixing or mastering, either. It will take getting someone who has the job who 1) believes you're reliable with the skill set and has a sense of you as a reliable person who won't miss work and 2) likes you on some level in the first place to even consider it.
It's a social skill and it takes placing yourself in the situation. There's no manual for this.
