If you want, you could add a bit more of a bass boost using it's built-in EQ.

It's all about how you use it, same as other synths people here (CHOOSE) to use![]()
And still supported and free updates even after all these years.
(oh btw : i have some of your soundsets, good stuff)

I have to disagree. I've always felt that Spire sounded very thin. I used to think Sylenth wasn't the best choice for bass, but never thought it sounded thin.chk071 wrote: Wed Mar 27, 2019 11:43 pm I like to compare Sylenth1 to Spire, and, Spire definitely has more bottom end, and it also sounds more fat and creamy for bass sounds. I'd agree that Sylenth1 is pretty nice for most sounds, but lacks a bit in the bass department. If it works for you, great.

I am very sceptical about this part. This update will alter the sound of all existing presets and there is no coming back. Don't fix what is not broken!Improved oscillator sound quality (improved high frequency content, reduced aliasing).

I really would call this a myth...
And tbh... nothing is easier than putting a bit EQ on the sound to reach every bottom end you like...
I don´t know neither, how a fat and creamy bass sounds ... and I guess we should all put this into the category "personal taste and impressions" and not into "general facts"
Perhaps there are some newbies reading this thread and believe you at the very end...
I am pretty sure there is absolutely no standard synth out there which isn´t able to reach the same bottom end as any other after the wished processing...

I don't think there were any paid updates! I have it for more than a year and there were several updates for free. I think they are making profit by selling new licenses! So, why not staying in business?!v1o wrote: Wed Mar 27, 2019 11:54 pm Have they ever had a paid update since Sylenth1 was made? How do they stay in business.
I still like Sylenth1 but I always forget to load it
I didn't like the new skin, but IMO the default is the best and I always return to it because it has very clear font and comfortable colours. So, this GUI update is not for me (not I'm looking for an update anyway!).
I like the new presets though and I'm already modifying one to use it. This synth is a keeper
Using: Cubase Pro 15, Bitwig 5, Tascam US-4x4HR, MODX6, DM12D, LaunchKey 49, Yamaha guitar(Pacifica 612v) and bass (BB234) and some virtual instruments and synths.

I compared it with the old Sylenth1 and the improvement is that now the oscillators dont have the high frequency falloff like before. In the old one, it sounded like the oscs were wavetables, where every few keys their top frequency would end at 17khz or so. Now the oscs have all their frequency across the keyboard. Its a small detail that doesnt affect the overall sound that much.DJ Warmonger wrote: Thu Mar 28, 2019 7:21 amI am very sceptical about this part. Yeah, same thing as described here, i guess: viewtopic.php?p=5980895#p5980895
Now, about those oscillators…
Both Hive and Sylenth use the IMHO fastest possible way to render static waveforms. Its called mipmapping, or multisampled waveform cycles which are switched based on pitch. Depending on which key you press you get either the full spectrum, or a spectrum up to, say, 17kHz or something in-between. Sylenth has 2 zones per octave, Hive currently has 3. Therefore they switch at different keys, so that conparing waveforms at the same key yields results either in favour of one or the other. A fair comparison would use not just one pitch, but several.

That should tell you something.
Sylenth off the bat produces some great instantly usable sounds out there. Highly used by pro's. That tells me more.
I wonder what happens if I press this button...

Hmm, so all the synths I own are crap. Is that what you're saying?
