Layzer....chill out.

He can't chill out because he can't admit to himself there's merit in higher CPU usage of newer synths. :D Some people are hopeless.

Imagine if Hartmann and Heckmann teamed up to make a synth. Just thinking about the monster that would be unleashed from that collaboration gives me Priapism.
i dont use uhe stuff either so...

I'd rather say you then have 2 egos to satisfy :D I think already one is hard enough as we see...

I'm sorry to hear that. You're missing out on some great synths.

But if you're a fan of synths in general a Hartmann/Heckmann collaboration would be nothing but a good thing.

Probably never going to happen but I stand by the statement that such a collaboration would almost certainly yield a synth well worth owning.......

thats the thing, im not missing anything. ive been thru the lot and slimmed it down to what i need and prefer.

im not really into niche/gimmicky stuff, or stuff that boasts zdf/audio rate this and that in software. I also dont buy stuff cos its the next big thing or most popular. its a tool, and has a job to do.

As long as my host keeps going for another 10 years im good (no reason why it shouldn't)

Get a new computer, bro
thats like being so fat that you cant
drive a normal car so you pay a ridiculous amount
If we are using the word "normal", well than your computer is not normal in the statistical sense of the word. It's outdated and at some point you have to keep up ... or shut up.

What you are suggesting is that everybody mows their lawn with this, just because YOU like it.

:D

Well, I guess we should consider ourselves blessed that Hartmann is on the team for a FREE synth where Amazona is basically asking "what kind of synth do you want?" and we'll make it for you...

Then you'll have no reason to read let alone post in threads about new synths in developement.

Synths aren't just "tools" they are musical instruments to be played and enjoyed. To those who can't grasp that fact I feel nothing but pity.........

some are, others not so much, hence why i slimmed down my selection to the ones that work for me (not ones im told i should use)

... and i'll post and read what i like where i like.

Who told you to use anything ?

I use the ones I like and enjoy. I'm pretty sure I'll enjoy Babylon when it's released because I'm always looking to expand or enhance the range of sounds I can make. Whether it will bring anything new or better is yet to be seen but my mind and my VSTi folder are always open to new things.

But being static and limiting yourself to the same sounds over and over is certainly a valid way of working as well. Whatever floats your boat just don't ever think your boat is better than anyone else's.

And certainly you're free to post anywhere you like but saying you don't need new synths and then reading and posting in a thread about a new synth seems counterproductive but hey like I said whatever floats your boat..... :tu:

i didnt say i would never use anything else, hence why i still demo new stuff.

Currently, nothing else in the market floats my boat except the stuff i currently use

and i also didnt say anything was better than anything else... maybe read what i say before putting words into my mouth

for boat floating, i suggest water.

No he's right. There's definitely no audible difference between what Synth1 can do and RePro can for example. All that extra CPU just means Urs is just bad at coding. All those other really great sounding, but high CPU instruments and effects, that's just bad coding too. I trust Layzer. He knows better.

/s

Funny how much in the audio world comes across as religous zealotry, whether it's Layzer with his "only low CPU freeware is any good" mindset, or the folks on the other end of the spectrum who spend 10k on speaker wire because it "sounds better" despite all evidence to the contrary. Maybe it happens in all fields to some degree (you certainly see it in the US when it comes to things like climate science), but there's just so much religion in audio, where for some people, it's about their beliefs versus any verifiable fact. So let Layzer beleive what he wants. His beliefs are his beliefs. You're probably never going to convince him to change them. I bet there's certain things I believe to be true that someone who knows better considers equally nonsensical.

Anyway, I look forward to seeing what comes out of this project. Tyrell has gotten quite a bit of love from me over the years and is still one of the top freeware synths. Will be interesting to see a different Amazona product from another talented development team.

Yeah I guess it's ok. It's ok to be wrong. :clown:
