if it is just feedback from kvr non edm is of course the winner. I like EDM stuff but I also like other types of stuff.

Hardstyle is not EDM.
Hardstyle is soul music of The Netherlands !!

EDM means "electronic dance music", it's supposed to gather all genres of dance/rave/club music in the world, so of course hardstyle is one of them. Maybe you were thinking of IDM ?

Amazing synth! One of my happiest purchases yet! Great sounds and so fast to make new patches.
Just a question, is there any way to make the arp/delay free running and not synched to bpm?
Thanks!

Hi. Free running in LFO is posibble, just deactivate the "BPM SYNC" Button. The dropdown with the synced times will be replaced by a wheel where you can set a Value in Hz.
What do you mean with delay? The Delay FX has a scale wheel, Okay it is based on the synced time you set but you can create times with it which are totaly out of sync.twitewhite wrote: Tue Apr 02, 2019 2:27 am Amazing synth! The Arp doesnt have a free running function.

Yes, I meant if you could have a delay timed in milliseconds, not based on beats. Same for the Arp. Same way that it works for the LFO, with a button that swaps between BPM and free running.Mirko R. wrote: Tue Apr 02, 2019 8:19 amHi. Probably wouldn't be that hard to implement, so maybe in a future update?
Regardless, if that's the only complaint I find in your software, you know it's good!

Now I'm curious. Is it really used that often? Most ARPs can't do it. What kind of sounds do people build with free running arps? Sounds a bit obscure to me. I can imagine some form of oneshot jingle or SFX for game menus. But otherwise ... ?twitewhite wrote: Tue Apr 02, 2019 8:54 amYes, I meant if you could have a delay timed in milliseconds, not based on beats. Same for the Arp. for example in electronic (house/tech/no) music where you often have synth/chords single-note-shots (just a single note or chord repeating), driving an arp on ms on the beat and then automating it before the breakdown to "machine gun effect" and then in the breakdown you start slowly roll it from slow to on-the-beat. or when you want to design a multi-layer patch when the end tail is a rapid roll pitching up or down.parawave wrote: Tue Apr 02, 2019 1:39 pm What kind of sounds do people build with free running arps? it's the only built-in effect in rapid that's able to re-generate notes (so it allows retriggering plucked sounds), should definitely benefit of a freerunning arp.
just trying to provide examples, me personally don't care too much about it (as I don't care about onboard audio fx either), most of the time I use external arps so I can switch the synth if needed (while preserving all FX sends, since I mentioned this earlier).
what I care the most is oscillators (and their shaping abilities), filters, envelopes and MSEGs
PS: judging by Avenger's almost derailed thread, you have a couple of dozens more upcoming forum pages to get some decent feedback from people genuinely interested in the synth and from people that know a thing or two about sound design. after that you'll get mostly garbage requests or questions from people that know very little about sound design (to put it mildly).
Not saying that you should implement all the requests, I'm suggesting just to mark them on your list as being "early" requests or whatever you decide to flag them with.

Not a big thing when playing arrangements - but I´m a loop guy.

Did you also try to activate the MONO|ARP LED? If you're not using the Arp, then the LFO runs without retriggering? Let me list all cases of the LEDs for you. The sequencer works the same way...bite_me wrote: Tue Apr 02, 2019 2:38 pmIt´s still triggered by transportMirko R. wrote: Tue Apr 02, 2019 8:19 am
Hi. Free running in LFO is posibble, just deactivate the "BPM SYNC" Button. The dropdown with the synced times will be replaced by a wheel where you can set a Value in Hz.
Not a big thing when playing arrangements - but I´m a loop guy.
Case 1:
[ ] Retrigger
[ ] BPM Sync
[ ] Mono | Arp
The LFO runs non beatsynced and generates a new random phase when you press a note or when the arp triggers a note.
Each Voice runs with an own LFO
------------------------------------------------------------------
Case 2:
[x] Retrigger
[ ] BPM Sync
[ ] Mono | Arp
The LFO runs non beatsynced but starts with phase = 0
Each Voice runs with an own LFO
------------------------------------------------------------------
Case 3:
[ ] Retrigger
[x] BPM Sync
[ ] Mono | Arp
The LFO runs beatsynced and generate a new random phase when you press a note or when the arp triggers a note.
Each Voice runs with an own LFO
------------------------------------------------------------------
Case 4:
[ ] Retrigger
[ ] BPM Sync
[x] Mono | Arp
When Arp is off: The LFO runs non beatsynced and runs continuosly without triggering. Each voice is using this global LFO.
When Arp is on: Works the same way but the global LFO phase starts at the same time than the arp and then it carries on.
------------------------------------------------------------------
Case 5:
[x] Retrigger
[x] BPM Sync
[ ] Mono | Arp
The LFO runs beatsynced but starts with phase = 0
Each Voice runs with an own LFO
------------------------------------------------------------------
Case 6:
[x] Retrigger
[ ] BPM Sync
[x] Mono | Arp
When Arp is off: all notes are using a non beatsynced global phase like in case 4 but the phase resets when you press a new note.
When Arp is on: all notes are using a non beatsynced global phase which resets when a new arp note comes in.
------------------------------------------------------------------
Case 7:
[x] Retrigger
[x] BPM Sync
[x] Mono | Arp
Same like case 6 but beatsynced
------------------------------------------------------------------
Case 8:
[ ] Retrigger
[x] BPM Sync
[x] Mono | Arp
Same like case 4 but beatsynced. Additionaly if you're not using an arp, the LFO runs synced to the host when your song plays. this ensures that the LFO generates the same values in your song.

Wow, Iron Lung.
Case1 creates a random phase which feels odd to me.
Case4 is the one I use most - and I thought it would be the transport triggering.
This issue is one I spent hard times at, but could be I was a little blind and simply just had to switch the arp off. Will try that. Thx Mirko

Because Rapid sounds better than Avenger, IMO. More spacious, airy, and cleanstrovoknights wrote: Sun Mar 31, 2019 9:56 pm
There is Hardstyle Expansion available in Avenger.
