The sequencers don't communicate in that way, so it really depends on what you're actually doing.

* If you just want to copy a sequencer's trigger or count pattern from one sequencer to another, you can copy and paste.
* You can modulate both sequencers by the same thing and use that to set the count and trigger.
* Or write directly to the count and trigger rows.
* Or assign both things to remote mappings (right-click > add mapping), and control both with the same mapping source.

Are any of these close to what you need? If not, let me know and think about if and how I could support what you're asking for.

Hello Colin, such a quick respond :)
I'm trying to recreate this:

In his respond to comment N7 hi explaining, how that done.
But i didn't found "skip step" function...
I use Maschine mk2 as controller, mapped to performance. I can mute step in sequencer, but have no idea, how to unmute same step in second sequencer without making 16 performance parameters more.
Also, it's mute, not skip.
How to make reset to first step sequencer N2 from first step in sequencer N1?
Have to figure out how to use "count" (i wrote - I'm noob).

And more... :D
How to make ratchet? Not on particular step, but triggered from another sequencer, with variable amount of repeats and variable timing of repeats, wich i can control?
Hope, I'm not asking too much... :D
Thanx!

tnx a lot for the update Collin! :)

much appreciated!

Setting a step's count to 0 - either directly, or via modulation, or via remote mapping - is equivalent to skipping a step.

You'll need to modulate both the count and divide at the same time to do a ratchet effect. So if you set count to 10 and divide to 10, it'll subdivide the beat into 10 divisions and play this 10 times.
Hope, I'm not asking too much.
No, of course not: ask away! Let me know if you need me to explain these concepts in more details.

So I've been looking into the Cubase loop issue, and so far haven't been able to reproduce it. Unfortunately, it doesn't appear Cubase 8.5 is available anymore, so I've been using a newer version of Cubase. That could be the difference, if it's something they've fixed.

But a code review has discovered a few things it potentially could be, although I'd really like to reproduce the issue for myself before I start changing this code.

If possible, could you send me a (simple) Cubase project that demonstrates this issue, and I'll see if I get any closer to reproducing the issue?

Thanks!
Sure! How can I send you a file? KvR does not allow me to attach project files here.

You can email it to support(at)loomer.co.uk, or if you'd prefer you can upload it (to Dropbox or something similar) and PM me the link. Thanks; much appreciated!

Ok, sent it to you at the loomer support address along with the .wmv in case it helps ;)

Bought architect a few days ago and I've got a question. I've been trying to set up 2 sequencers where one is master and second is being stepped through by the first sequencers gate pattern. I've tried the suggested method, but I can't make it work. Anyone care to share an example or explain how its done? Would be greatly appreciated. Thank you :)

Architect seems like a very promising piece of software. I've been using max and there are some differences between architect and max that I have to wrap my head around. I'm looking very much forward to get a better understanding of the basics as this seems like the perfect companion for Bitwig.

I've just put together a minimal example that I believe does what you ask. It's simply two sequencers, with a "controller" sequencer running a "worker" sequencer. There are a few comments in the graph, but if you need anything explained in more details, don't hesitate to ask.

Thank you Colin, much appreciated, I'll give this a look immediately.

hmm, how do I open this? Is there a way to import presets? Cant find it, haha :-/ Also, I tried to just open the file in architect standalone, but architect just opens a new empty preset..

Unzip it in into your "User" preset directory.

The easiest way to locate this is by opening the preset browser (click on the "untitled preset" at the top of ui), then right-click on the "User" node in the Folder Tree on the left and choose "Show in Finder" (this may be option may be titled something else depending on your OS.)

Unzip the .zip file here, or into a sub-folder, and then it should appear when you re-open the preset browser.

Sorry it's a bit of a faff dealing with .zip files, but I've had trouble in the past attaching raw .xml patches. Not sure if that is still the case, but zipping them up is a habit I've gotten into.

thank you! I was looking for "show in browser" but hadn't found it :)
I'm extremely impressed with architect so far. Very, very nice work. I'm very excited to get better at using this amazing piece of software...

Hi Colin , have you thought about adding a delay per step parameter ? ( preferable in milliseconds )
This is the only thing missing from sequencers like sonicbytes era , and it's great to give individual swing to patterns , especially hi-hats :tu:

Sounds like a good idea. I can imagine that being a simple way to spice up rigidly metronomic patterns. In theory, it's an easy thing to implement, but I'm cringing as I write that as whenever I do, it turns into an absolutely mammoth task!
