get their facts right?

Plugin Alliance didnt acquire Dimitry Sches, PA are their distributor. NI didnt acquire U-he, they did a one-off sale on a subset of u-he products.
iZotope most probably didn't acquite Exponential Audio either.

So, yeah... Waves turn to do what exactly?

Post

if waves wants to compete they are going to have to do something. they are getting out done by these vst conglomerate partnerships. they are going to have modernize, while still keeping with a good fit. spectrasonics would be a good fit.

You say they are being outdone. Where is your evidence? Do you have sales figures to back up these claims. I happen to know a lot of industry professionals who use Waves plugins. I use Waves plugins.

Just off the top of my head

Schepes Omni Channel
Vitamin
Vocal Rider
REDD 17, 51 etc.
J37
Kramer Master Tape
Abbey Road Tape
Abbey Road Channel Strip

And I know there are more.

Who exactly is mopping the floor up with Waves based on sales?

Post

I'd agree that Waves have to modernize in certain aspects, but, outdown? By which measure? I doubt you really have numbers which prove that - Waves don't do well, or - how those companies do with such partnerships. I'm sure both Dmitry Sches and Exponential Audio have a good point to do what they do, but, it's surely not safe to say that it's all turning out great, and so much better than before.

they are going head to head with plugin A. right now they are both offering ssl E for example. that's not by accident. all the other guys have made big moves. the vst world is changing right now. it's consolidating. pretty obvious there is heavy comparison happening. only the innovative are going to survive.

serum. :hihi:

Post

propellerhead already has spire. i don't think that's a good match anyway. spectrasonics would be too pricey to buy, i could see them buying serum tho.

your move waves.

Um... no? :) Spire is a plugin like anything else in Reason... it's just available as RE and VST. But, so are other plugins as well.

Where is your proof? Where are the figures? Where are the marketing strategies laid out by each of these companies that show that they believe to be in competition with each other and are actually doing something about it?

Anybody can say anything they want around here.

Where is your proof?

Post

on second thought serum would kill codex so... what moves could they make? an NI/U-he type sale? maybe bring on spectrasonic for a major sale? not sure what they could buy up.

maybe tone 2?

Post

I'm still waiting for your proof.

Oh wait, you don't have any.

there's this thing called common sense wags.

just keeping an eye out for the next big hit so i know what to buy into and not to buy into.

I was gonna say the same thing Lamo, I had to do a double check like "Wait did Props BUY Spire??"

I don't think Props will.

The only Company I'm afraid will do somthing like it that is Apple. Since They have well enough money and well...They already did before :hihi:
