Hive 2 is the opposite. Overwrites previous version and is patch compatible.
This is a very bad news for people who have bought a lot of Zebra2 Commercial Soundsets, isn't it?
I spent several hundred Euros for lot of really nice Zebra2 Soundsets.
With release of Zebra3 I really hope u-he don’t stop the “life cycle” of Zebra2.
Or is there some possibility planned to convert Zebra2 Soundsets in to Zebra3?
No, it is not bad news because Zebra 2 keeps working fine.

I doubt that there will be any conversion of sound sets. An individual sound designer could recreate their soundset for Zebra 3. But it will never be exactly the same cause Z2 and Z3 will have different features and modules.

In other words, to adopt the right mindset, Z3's name could actually be "Leopard". And the right question will then be: Will you get the new Leopard synth from u-he ?

(moreso if there's no upgrade path from Z2)

And a question a sound designer can ask could be: "Will I convert one or many of my sound sets to the new synth from u-he ?" - with a very probable answer in the negative, with good reason.

It will be $30 (If I'm remembering correctly) to upgrade from Zebra 2... and if you have purchased Dark Zebra in addition to Z2... then a free upgrade to Z3

When HZ was released this was definitely the case, though Zebra (the 'normal' version) has had quite a few updates since then so I'd personally keep them both: Zebra HZ for any presets using the Diva filters, and the latest Zebra for everything else
Mmh, I thought that the current ZebraHZ is a proper superset of current Zebra2. Is this not the case? Are there things in Zebra2 that are not in ZebraHZ?

HZ is a superset of Zebra 2... sometimes there has been a lag between when a new version of Z2 comes out and when the HZ equivalent does.

Oops - Just checked my account and there is indeed a new build of ZebraHZ, I had no idea!

As a [super approximate] guide of the delay between the two releases: Zebra2 2.80 was built 5th June 2018 and we got The Dark Zebra 2.80 on 20th November 2018

I saw now the Zebra3 in a very early development stage.
Yes, Zebra3 are entirely different from Zebra2 or HZ. :D

* I actually like this. We would essentially get 3 versions of Zebra. Zebra 2, Dark & Zebra 3 right?
