ModuLR wrote:hmmm, sounds like all that needs to be done is to make the wrap filter function handle mutiple filters... such that, you shift-select all the filters you want bundled... then right click menu wrap them.. and let tracktion make all the connections for you (just like how wrapping works for a single fitler). Instant rack channel strip with minimal hassel.
:dog: Damn why didnt I think of that!

The only thing with that is that once it's wrapped it's a bit harder to edit...

i wish that tracktion 2 wont ever come out because of countless users demanding it to come out

What the f**k are you talking about? This is a feature request thread not a "gimme tracktion 2" thread. Why would you wish it never came out? Just to spite others?

yes.

This is nothing compared to what goes on in the Acid forums...

Or the Reason forum.

T2 would def need a good manual with an index. Being new to this program is a trial. Every feature you want to know about takes searching for a while, poking around and perhaps not even being aware of all of it's functions after a long time.

ModuLR's rack-wrap idea is a simple and easily-implemented suggestion for instant channel strip racks.

But at the end of the day, it really only takes 30 seconds (or less, if you're handy with a mouse!) to do this manually anyhow, so I don't see it as a big 'feature request'-type thing.

There are other things that would speed up workflow even more than this... at risk of starting vapourware discussion, there's been rumblings of a shell/host GUI that will speed things up a bit for all hosts... and no, it's not from BetabugsAudio. ;)

It are exactly these 30 seconds or a few mouse-clicks, what are that disturbing. Following that argumentation, nobody would need a freeze function.
Freeze is cool and so are Channel-Presets like in Logic7.

Further i'd love to see in T2 folder-tracks like in Logic (without it's simply the pure horror to work on serious projects -> an absolutely must-have feature if T aims at the semi-pro and pro users, too), professional automation (like in Logic), really full MIDI-functionality and surround/multi-channel support.

In general i have to say, that i understand everyone, who likes T - so do i - but this application isn't becoming better, by praying it's positive aspects, but to get the necessary functions implemented serious producers need.

strikes me that this is in direct opposition to MOST peoples early experience with tracktion ...

... once you get your head round the fact that filter = plugin in tracktionworld EVERYTHING is pretty much there in front of you ...

I think the concept of Tracktion is great, nice n simple.

It would be great to save if any VST's are "locked", so when a song is reloaded, they are still on top.

It'd make a great development host then :)

Wouldn't it be neat if we had three different ways of grouping filters? One for racks, one for grouping several filters in series and one for grouping several filters in parallel. You could use groups in groups, for example you could stick a series group in a rack, or a parallel group in a series group. Once grouped, you can still edit all the filters and the order by sliding them around just like on the track view. Saving groups and racks to external files would be nice to.

1. Folder tracks - Cubase and Sonar both have them now, and they are *so* useful!

2. A "send" plugin that allows you to specify a send amount (ie, volume) to be sent to another track, just like having sends on a mixer that send to aux busses.

3. A programmable midi arpeggiator - capable of sending not just note data but controller data too - imagine being able to set up an arpeggiated controller pattern that's controlling the filter cutoff in a VST!

I agree. This has been requested hundreds of times already atleast since I've been here. I'm sure T2 will have some type of track management.

Senderella and racks can both do this cant they? Maybe I dont understand what you mean.

Get EXT and you wont have to imagine doing that. It does that and a million other things .
