We'll see. Defining keys for switchable performance controls have been on my list since I bought an EPS-16+ in 1993.
and which showed up briefly in a Diva beta :)

- I would be more than happy to pay. £50, £100, whatever. My u-he stuff has paid for itself many, many times over and I'm sure Zebra 3 will be equally important.
I would give green light for this move. I think that I'm partly owner of zebra3 already but I'm okey if they say that they need some extra money. Paying like 50 euros extra (I'm already owner of zebra + HZ) is okey to me.

What I don't like is how zebra3 is no man's land at the moment. There is no real plan for it. Some nice ideas and some little more but that's all. And it has been like this just a long time that it feels bad for me as a customer who has paid for Zebra3.

Just because you don't know the plan doesn't mean there isn't one.

Also, you have not paid for Zebra 3... you paid for Zebra 2 and Zebra HZ.

Might be cool to have some new commercial soundsets
on release day, to supplement whatever factory content
will be in V3. I'm sure people will be in the mood to
:x slap that plastic :x
on release day :hyper:  :hyper:

Enough features, so, now it's time to fire up xcode

Sounds promising

Watched the coming soon video - it's very interesting and nice to see that there is almost the basics for key switch.

For modulating the curves Modwheel and Pitchbend (maybe LFO and MMAP*) would be nice.
Modwheel for just increase "Tension"*² - see Dmitry Sches Tantra, Pitchbend for in-/decrease.
* not sure if LFO and MMAP would make sense for this and the following case/feature. found usefull ... :P
*² As written before it would be nice to change only certain points on the x-/y axis - with this and together with changing the f / "Tension" feature you could "play" or change the playing style - of the MSEG - enormous! and with the keyswitch function easily & totally exchange the structure / rhythm of the MSEG curve.

This is the slightly extanded version of my feature suggestion. Mostly evertime i play with VST/i*³ i always which this feature would be less static. :help: Even with third party solutions you can't reach that and even if you can get close/r it would be less direct, comfortable etc. But there is no other Synth i want to see this feature first (i think this would be unique and a big feature) and i'm sure you can do that convincingly!

Pretty sure Hans would love to play with, Howard and other Sound Designer would love to work with ... - not sure about the programmer. :hihi:

And for the CEO / Marketing: you could adapt this unique feature in its extended version to the dark Zebra and the light version to Zebra or / and maybe make the regular Zebra extendable:

Zebra Basic as it is
Zebra XT = extended - extension 1.) just dark Zebra patches & 2.) dark Zebra features
Dark Zebra ...

*³ This feature would be also unique in the hardware world and even if this would shift the release date of Zebra as a Hardware Synth this would make my dream even more marvelous if it comes true.

Hey,

I read Zebra3 will be nothing like ZebraHz. I have three synths I want to learn right now. Shall I put ZebraHz on hold for a while since I can’t translate it to Zebra3?

You can also look at it the opposite way: since Zebra3 will be an entirely new thing, maybe you should learn ZebraHZ because it will continue to be its own thing even after Z3 is released.

Hi, Urs!
I don't know if it was mentioned earlier, but it would be great to add "switch" for arpeggiator per lane, so we could combine static sounds and arpeggiated sounds.

The Feature "Unison Index Mapping" in IL Harmor is a very nice one. You can map it to the (Unison) Pitch for example and detune the 9 Unison Voices (="Chords"). That would be nice to have, it frequently ends up in really fat and deep Pads!

Save "User LFO".

Options for OSC morph Editors: Resolution (Partials), Zoom, toggle Lines / Bars, toggle odd/even Harmonics - additive Stuff in general.

A Resonator like in Z2 HZ would also attract me!

Add this, and say goodbye to Absynth.

Won't happen tho :D

Urs has said a million and one times that samples won't happen and kill synthesizers. So yeah, won't happen.

Some things I'd like to see (or echo from others):

1. Treat lanes like layers: so per-lane outputs (!), key ranges (!) for splits/combinations/crossfades, arpeggiators/sequencers, copy and pasting of lanes, FX per lane if desired (though you can already do this in Z2). Maybe even ways to trigger per-lane gates using other modules (FG Rise for example). If I want to turn 4 lanes in Z3 to a four-instrument drum machine with different notes or gates triggering each, with different FXs, running to four different instrument outputs, I should be able to.

2. Hive-style WT osc (uhm) + oscFX. Not sure we need to be able to draw waveforms honestly. Might be cool if we can mix and match waveforms from different WT's (take this frame from this WT and make it frame one, take another from another WT and make it the last frame) and then interpolate between them. Would that be possible?

3. More osc types. Still wouldn't mind seeing an analog-style osc osc with drift, free-running oscs, audio-rate modulation/sync, etc. just as another Osc module type. Also, we already have an FM osc, but Bazille-style CZ would be cool (I know there's a Phase Dist OscFX currently). Additive? I guess I'd like to see Zebra go from Wavetable Modular Monster that does other types of synthesis, to a modular monster with different sound generation/osc capabilities if that makes sense. Sort of like, "oh, I bought this other type of Eurorack osc module" but in Zebra. Basically, make Zebra the flagship U-he synth that does a bit of everything.

4. The Hive shape sequencer would be neat. Considering how little GUI space it takes, I think it could totally fit on the right-hand side of the current Z2 so why not Z3.

5. More modular type things like: probability gate, dedicated S&H module with inputs/outputs/modulators, quantizers, FG's, etc.

6. FX presets, FX chain presets.

7. FX in the main grid/audio path. Why not right?

8. Options for time/beat scales on MSEGs with snappable handles. I think MSEGs make sense in Zebra, even if they don't work as well elsewhere in the lineup. But would like to see improved drawing, tempo-snapping of nodes, setting a precise length, etc.

This is on top of the stuff we're already expecting like new browser, MPE, etc.

Any news on development progression? Or should I unsubscribe from this topic, since you don't know when it's ready? Btw. how do I actually unsubscribe from a topic at KVR? I cannot find any option...
