Same here. This is great news IMO.SparkySpark wrote: Tue Apr 02, 2019 11:20 pm I think Izotope creates a lot of good sounding and highly creative effects, and their UIs are superb. So for me, it is just a plus if they acquire high quality gear.
iZotope bought Exponential Audio

I don't know why they would. That seems silly to me that a company would buy out another and then drop their best products? That makes no sense.

Yeah but Waves ends up selling all of their products for $29.SLiC wrote: Wed Apr 03, 2019 12:47 pmOops- corrected -I meant the Stereo Reverb Bundle (that was the offer in my account), not the everything bundle!
Be interesting to see if the Stereo Reverb Bundle ends up in MPS 3 and/or the Creative Bundle...I suspect it will and I will wait for that as I am still on MPB 1 and haven't been tempted to upgrade (even for 250 bucks) but I may do if they put this in as well and call it V3!
Reverb is a realy hard market now- Waves are pretty much giving away their H reverbs for 29 bucks, Breeze and Valhalla stuff is great for like 50 bucks and I have also picked up the eventide stuff for next to nothing...not to mention NI bundled verbs etc etc...

Oh man, I hope so.Caine123 wrote: Wed Apr 03, 2019 7:21 am Very bad news! I like izotopes products but their upgrade policy is a joke.
Maybe for newcomers it is nice guess we will see r4 sales for 49 bucks etc ;D

I agree, Neutron is a pretty decent plug that I still use from time to time.SLiC wrote: Wed Apr 03, 2019 3:14 pmI think Neutron is pretty good, it was more like Alloy 2 re-skinned but ultimately one is aimed at mixing and one is aimed at mastering- two separate products, you don't have to buy both (where there is bound to be overlap!).Orbit-50 wrote: Wed Apr 03, 2019 2:10 pmTotally agree.billcarroll wrote: Wed Apr 03, 2019 2:44 am iZotope loves to do frequent updates for upgrade cash, and they have a habit of abandoning software like Iris and everything from the BT collaboration. It's hard not to love Ozone, but ....
It will be good to see the EA Reverbs get a GUI makeover, although I expect iZotope will apply their $ model as well. Let's hope they don't abandon these amazing reverbs.
I got off the Izotope bus a long time ago because of this. They had really nice products, and instead of building upon them, and fixing existing problems, they just abandoned them. Neutron was a joke because it was basically Ozone reskinned with a bolted on "fairy-dust" feature promising to help you mix better. Total sucker marketing. That was basically the last straw for me as far as Izotope goes. I don't see their acquisition of Exponential audio as being a good thing.

I've been playing around with the reverbs from the stereo bundle for almost a week now, and am convinced I never need to use the crappy reverbs bundled with any of my DAWs ever again.
They are really good, and I think the only reason I would use another reverb is that I love the Waves Abbey Road plate reverb for vocals, but these are now my go to reverbs for sure.

Just my opinion, but, i find the Plate algorithm of R2 fantastic. I'm no expert in terms of Plate reverb though. Sounds very clean, spacious, and pristine to me though.Deep Purple wrote: Thu Apr 11, 2019 2:15 pm They are really good, and I think the only reason I would use another reverb is that I love the Waves Abbey Road plate reverb for vocals, but these are now my go to reverbs for sure.

It does sound really good, but the Waves Abbey Road plate has this wonderful warmth to it that works really well on vocals.chk071 wrote: Thu Apr 11, 2019 2:25 pmJust my opinion, but, i find the Plate algorithm of R2 fantastic. Anyone have opinions on Excalibur? Mostly seen chatter about the EA reverbs on this thread. Aside from the fact that the engines are mono it looks pretty interesting.

Excalibur has great sounding effects, however you should try the demo to see if it fits your needs.Winstontaneous wrote: Sat Apr 13, 2019 7:49 pm Anyone have opinions on Excalibur? They are rather my choice if i want a noble sound; for more unconventional or experimental or chaotic - you name it - stuff there are other tools...

Excalibur has one strength IMO: the sound quality is very high. The GUI doesn't work so well for fast programming of presets.Winstontaneous wrote: Sat Apr 13, 2019 7:49 pm Anyone have opinions on Excalibur? Mostly seen chatter about the EA reverbs on this thread. I can't say any of the presets stood out for me, but it did make me think that it's something I would spend time tweaking to get some interesting effects. To me it falls more in the 'creative' effects category than a straightforward reverb, so I wouldn't try to emulate real world spaces with it.Winstontaneous wrote: Sat Apr 13, 2019 7:49 pm Anyone have opinions on Excalibur?
