Any way to do spectral time stretching in melda?

I would love to do time stretching by differing amounts at different points in the frequency spectrum. I've made some pretty wild sounds with spectral delay and it made me think I could do even more creative work with a spectral stretch... But I can't think of a way to do this in the current melda line... Is there?

I guess the silence in this thread tells me there isn't.
Well, I think there is space for a spectral stretch in melda's line up. Not only could you make some very interesting special effects (longer stretches for low verses high frequencies would make a zap like sound), but also it would be better for pads than Mgranular because it could be so smooth.

Haha, yes, I couldn't think of anything sorry.
There are some similar things to try, but not proper stretching, you have probably already done some anyway.
You can create 16 band versions (using the new modular16) of certain plugins to get close to spectral.
I would try Rhythmizer first as you can slow down and speed up. But obviously it will not keep the pitch.
Then there is Granular, I think you can get a sort of stretching using the transfer shape thing.
Then Transform has the smear/blur thing.
All should make some interesting sounds.
If you use the link bands button in the crossover, then use a MP to learn a parameter it will learn ALL the other instances in one go, massive timesaver.

I agree with your love for MSpectralDelay. It's my favourite creative plugin.
Since Melda doesn't have a DAW, I'd just like to point out that the new version of MuLab has a unique take on time-stretching. It's surely creative! I've tried it together with MSpectralDelay and if you add MuLab's Audio Dispatcher to the mix, you will get an unbelievably crazy setup!

+1 for a Melda MSpectralStretch! Combined with MSpectralDelay & MTransformer, it would be one hell of a killer spectral mangling trio. A stretch is definitely missing in Melda's arsenal.

Hehe well, to be honest, I have no idea how to do this in a plugin, since the time is, well, running at the speed of the DAW

*I already have way more cool toys than I even know how to play with, but still I can't help but be curious!
Are you talking about time-stretching just a certain part of the frequency range? And, if that's what you mean, it seems like you're not looking for a real-time effect, but something to create new sounds for a virtual instrument. But maybe I totally misunderstand.
But if that is what you mean, couldn't you just use eq filters to select certain frequency ranges, and then do a time stretch on the resulting bands in your DAW?

It's not real-time, but Mammut can do non-linear stretching, albeit with stretch increasing or decreasing proportional to frequency, rather being able to apply it to the spectrum arbitrarily. The resulting effect is like a very slightly frequency shifted version of the original in which transients (and everything) slowly spread into 'swoops' from either top-to-bottom or bottom-to-top more and more as time goes on. It's really fun to take a chunk from the start of your track, reverse it and apply this process, then reverse it back and glue it back into place to have your sound 'coalesce' out of disordered frequency soup.
Mammut is named for its method of using one 'mammoth' FFT window the length of your entire sound, so don't expect much else in the way of useful transformations from it. Indeed the process mentioned creates a faint drone running over everything, volume proportionate to stretch amount.

For clarity; my original request was asking about a way stretch (lengthen) different frequencies by different amounts. And yes, doing this in realtime.
Using EQ/filters as SirMonkey suggests isn't really what I'm talking about... I'm basically talking about making an MTransformer, but instead of shifting frequencies into different places, we are instead stretching frequencies by different amounts.

That can be quite problematic, because for the synthesis there would be overlap of coexisting frequencies at the same bins... not sure how well that could work. Maybe one day
